Ryu gets such weird ideas in his head that are only issues because he keeps blatantly ignoring the intended way to do things. almost every time I see one of his videoes I feel like he shoud be playing a Sonic game instead with how fast he tries to go and skip as much of the level as possible.

How can every level be so different and fun at the same time? Every Wonder-flower introduces a really cool concept and its blowing me away! For example the level where you went to space or the one where you walked on the walls. This game is fantastic! Even If I don't own a Switch it's great to see you play it Ryu!

Well, We know that Nintendo have 2D Mario on lock and there's always a 2D fanbase out there. They could put out 'Mario Bros Sparkles' tomorrow and it'd sell 20+ million. Mario Bro's is Mario's answer to Pokémon at the cash registers basically. What I don't get is that Nintendo are _even more Successful with the 3D titles of _*_both_*_ Franchises._ So, why have they stuck to 2D with Wonder?? Was it just sheer whimsical choice?

Wonder had an amazing theme, so very surprised the 3D team weren't instructed to look into it more. Or maybe they did consider it, but as you said, time? Effort? Nevertheless, the 3D games don't ever really disappoint.

@@orangemonks894 It wasn't expected and yes they did sprinkle all the Mario gameplay elements all over it to make the experience as fun as it can be. But I've always prefered the mystical and other 'alternate' worldly that Mario also does so well like the Masterpiece that is Isle Delfino. Humans in a Mario game other than the 'main cast' , its strange but I never knew how odd it would feel!

one world in and i've been blown away by every turn of every level so far... the attention to detail, the level design, the visuals, the backgrounds, the animations, the wonder effects, the soundtrack.. everything is on point, everything.. Wonder truly feels like the evolution in 2D Mario we've been waiting for for 30 yrs!

This was a lot of fun to watch! I'm also going to take the time to say thank you for making it just one, long, three hour video; it was actually nice to just get to lounge, and see a big chunk of content, instead of 20 minutes to an hour of play, followed by waiting a week, or something. Thanks! It's a neat game, and while I do think it is probably better than Kirby Forgotten World, I definitely got that game vibes from this, with the little support narrator traveling along, and the different power ups you can find, and try to use through levels in different ways, as you collect set numbers of assets, to unlock the way forward. I look forward to the next batch of this playthrough!

Aahhhh Ryu missing the poplin in W1 and not talking to him and missing out on levels is killing me. He even looked at him and then left and forgot about him and you can see the levels on the world map lol Haven't finished the video yet but 2 hours and 30 min in and it's killing me cuz ITS RIGHT THERE. I have to say, whoever arranged the soundtrack for this game has _definitely_ taken some inspiration from YT cover artists. From the 1-1 theme sounding straight out of a Smooth McGroove video to the airship theme sounding like a FamilyJules metal cover of a Mario Maker song, and I'm sure there are a couple more I missed. Not that I'm complaining, I think that it's amazing. This music in this game is legit, and the more cool music styles they incorporate, the better.

Looking forward to the rest of this playthough. Just finished 100% myself and it's nice looking back at how you and others have experienced the game. Really looking forward to the badge marathon. Game was pretty much everything I was hoping for. Especially the Wonder Flowers which were really creative and had gameplay that would be quite hard to implement into a Mario Maker editor. There were ideas and concepts that you don't really see other than the most creative and bonkers rom hacks. It'll be interesting to see what they do include in a future Mario Maker. Things like falling Super Stars and Shadow Mario chases can easily be available, but like the Musicals or other flowers that take the level in a radically different direction (like the stampedes or the giant snowball rolling up the level) would be really hard to offer; especially at the same level of presentation. The only thing I was hoping for was that there would be some bonus levels and content for Yoshi to unlock so that he'd be more than just "easy-mode". Oh well, the game still delivers more than I expected.

Watching this game is a LSD trip, looks really really trippy. @_@ Very fun imo, i never got the chance to play even te previous games so i'll watch you playing. And love the fact they put in some classic soundtracks from the early days, which i remember quite well. Had the NES and SNES, played the N64 and had the oldschool gameboy and variants of it. I am surprised Ryu didn't intuitively figure out the linking lifts around the 2 hr 12 min point. All he had to do was activate enough links to extend his platform to the right. No need for a bubble costume.

There is a special world entrance in each world. Check the level list and up at the top of the screen where you cycle through worlds, if there is no green checkmark you have missed something.

@ryukahr: To explain what you got confused about was because you did not ride the bull from the start, and ignore the ten purple coins, because you would have seen the bull destroy the first flag, they where off screen when that happen and the bowser flag was red that was the secret exit, the missing wonder seed was just the normal exit, just ignore that wonder flower an go for the normal flag, or don't ignore the wonder flower and beat the bull before they destroy the flag. Getting to the top of the flag is required for 100% if their is a secret exit only one flag need the top for 100%. If both the normal exit and secret exit is required to reach the top for 100% they will be 2 flag.

YOU MISSED/SKIPPED THE WORLD 1 AREA WHERE THE ROCK BLOCKS YOUR PATH, talk to the dude, and he will break the rock for you. lack of checkmark means a level has a secret exit it seems. secret exits have a red flag on the pole, normal exits a black one.

This game is insane fun. So freaking nostalgic because it's so classic and yet also so modern at the same time. Hands down best platformer in years and I'm not even Nintendo fan. The standees act as a respawn point during online interactions. If you die and bump into one before your time runs out, you'll respawn.

To be able to know if it is a dead pit or a secret room, check the collor of the back droop, if it become shadded in darkness, death pit, if it keep it same type of collor secret room. I did not know that was the difference my first time, so I end -up jumping into death pit that got coins above it.
