I do a similar thing when I talk to people with Southern accents. I subconsciously adopt some of their accent and slang and keep it for a few hours after talking with them. I like the accent so I guess my brain just sponges it up while in the moment.

When do they have to auction it off? Do they have to? It’s not illegal so I doubt they’d just destroy it on purpose. I don’t doubt some idiot has gotten finger prints all over it and it’s been played by a few people. Plus all the other incompetent mistakes that can happen when lots of people involved, I would not be surprised if it makes it out of fed custody in worse condition than just sat in a room and left alone.
@evilpandakillabzonattkoccu48793 жыл бұрын
@@jlondon1441 I think it's the Feds choice and they would likely auction it off if they needed funds and knew it would sell for a ton. Like when your local PD auctions off old cruisers and siezed cars.

Martin Shkreli used to live stream all the time and I remember him telling his story on how he came up. He was obsessed with learning about stocks as a kid.. after college at Bumfuck university he started on the ground floor as a mail peddler at some random investment company. Shkreli being the talkative guy that he is, made people quickly realize his savant-like stock predicting abilities, which soon made him an ally to the company. Shkreli proved his worth time and time again so he starting getting profit percentages, which made him a millionaire. Another one of his hobbies were the pharmaceutical world. he convinced high powered investors to buy certain pharma companies to monopolize the sell of particular medicines in the united states. over time he purchased the US rights to the drug that made him famous for changing it to $13.50 a pop to $750.
@danielmarkkula30043 жыл бұрын
@@AdasHere Then why to buy it in the first place?
@jon....3 жыл бұрын
@@danielmarkkula3004 Because he wanted to make money off of the insurance companies who buy the drug. He sold it for regular price to uninsured patients and all the money daraprim made was put into r&d for a better drug as daraprim is a bad treatment.
@andrewbellinger61203 жыл бұрын
Standard practice in pharma to buy patents and jack up the prices. Martin's issue was that he was not a mega political donor like big pharma, so he hadn't "purchased the rights" to play that game. Many other companies do what he did on a regular basis, they just give millions to PACs and lobbyists so they are allowed too.

@@andrewbellinger6120 Medicine is run like a criminal enterprise in the united states lol. Its insane.
@andrewbellinger61203 жыл бұрын
@@signoguns8501 not really. 95% of the worlds new medicines, cancer treatments, etc.. are developed in the united states. In countries with socialized health systems very few new drugs are developed as there is no profit to cover the expensive research and clinical trials needed to deliver a drug to market. Capitalism breeds innovation.

Martin Shkreli did want to release the album. There was a weird clause in the contract he signed that said that after winning the album in the auction he wouldn't be allowed to release it to the public until like 100 years after the auction ended, though. He even kept playing some tracks on his KZbin livestreams and would get legal threats because of the contract he was in mid-stream. There's a compilation vid where people tried to stitch together some of the music he played during the streams, and it's about 30 mins worth of music which ain't much but at least we have it.

MrMojoPictures well, like they said, Martin doesn’t have it cause the government seized his assets. So they can’t really buy it from him right now, they’re squirming cause they don’t wanna call joe retarded for literally being told as much and still proceeding to say “well I’d buy it off him, is there any way I could buy it from him” no joe that’s what it means to have your assets seized, you don’t get control over them anymore but he just wouldn’t listen
@damoncarrawell29064 жыл бұрын
Captain kiwi I mean joe probably doesn’t know how that works. Like myself I’m ignorant to what takes place before and after assets are seized. Do they sell them eventually? Give them to family? Does he get them back when he gets out?
@strikeforcek91494 жыл бұрын
@@damoncarrawell2906 after all appeals go through and the case is exhausted (no chance of thre asset forfeiture being reversed in favor of the defendant) then the government auctions off everything in various liquidation auctions. Depending on the asset though, sometimes the government keeps things and repurposes them for government use (using seized cars for undercover cars, boats for sting operations, etc etc). More than likely though, it'll end up in a government auction at some point and liquidated for cash to go back into the government funds. Sometimes they'll donate assets to other companies or nonprofits too, in order for the nonprofit or whatever to auction off themselves. In short: the government basically does whatever they want to with it. But, it usually ends up being liquidated at auction for cash.

How?
@mikestepan74784 жыл бұрын
sw toni so he bought the rights to a prescription medicine that was FDA approved. When it’s FDA approved, insurance companies have to pay for that medication. By jacking up the price so much, he was able to profit it and give the medication out for free, u just have to request it from them and they will give it to you no questions asked. Insurance companies have no other choice but to pay full price. So no one got screwed, only the insurance companies. They’re by far one of the biggest scams. People who don't understand how markets work... they mistakenly believe that what Shkreli did at the pharmaceutical company was bad. In reality he was helping save lives.
@chbrules4 жыл бұрын
If you ever listened to Shkreli's live streams, he explains how he only charged insurance companies those hiked prices. He said if anyone couldn't afford it, he would give it to them free. Yes, the price was hiked way up, but it also funded investment in more drug research to bring to market to help more people. Shkreli is a scapegoat for the gov's vindictive BS moral campaign to look like the great savior of the people, but the tragedy was his ego prevented him from telling the true story to the people.
@DontStopCornPop4 жыл бұрын
If those insurance companies are charged those massively inflated prices though, wouldn't they in turn just pass those charges on the consumer? Plus if there is any instance of Shkreli giving away that medication to someone who asked him, I haven't heard of it. And he very well could have, but I've watched a little bit of his live streams and interviews and from what I can tell, this guy just revels in being an arrogant, rich peice of shit.
