After several weeks of research, I ended up ordering this exact model. this video was extremely helpful planning for the installation.

Pointing out some of the details, like which way the larger grommet goes and bolt/washer/locking washer/nut order, would have been very helpful. This video was good for a quick overview of the install, but I gave up on the video for the instructions QR code that came in the box.

i get the need to self assemble grommets, etc to reduce costs and support different models...but one thing i don't like for the price is the weather stripping around the clear lid. pain to install, slips our routinely when accessing the filter, and has memory so came with "flat spots" out of the box. for anyone cleaning their filters on a schedule, i suggest just getting some small-gap adhesive weather strip and swapping this out from the start.

I might need to return mine, it didn't come with a gorgeous lady like the video shows. But seriously, I installed on my '24 and the gasket for the window must have a design change. No screws to hold it, only a lip in the gasket.

After driving my ram with and without the plug i feel it drives better with plug on but definitely louder with it off. Anyone else notice same or different? I live in south florida so i just mught keep it on to avoid more heat.

Haven't tried it with the plug in yet, but I'm in Houston and plan to ride with the plug out during our three weeks of winter then plug it when it warms back up.

Why was the design of these changed? The ccv tube connect is now plastic and the plexiglass top does not screw down it goes inside a rubber trim then goes in.

I’ve had several rams (I lease). The s&b is the way to go. Definitely the best out of them all. Im obviously not married to any brand as I’ve tried others but I wouldn’t personally entertain anything other than this s&b.

So, why would you dissconnect the battery? Ive worked on cars back in the 80s and nobody did that not even at mechanics shops, so why now?

Even though most people don't do it, disconnecting the battery is always step 1 for anything electrical. In this case, the IAT sensor was unplugged. Shouldn't really matter as long as the ignition is off, it's just a safety precaution to ensure no voltage present at anything electrical and so no codes trip.

We recommend removing the plug if your vehicle has other performance upgrades. Keep in mind that you are exposing you filter to more dirt and bugs therefore your filter will need to be serviced/changed more often. We recommend in warmer temperatures to keep the plug installed to keep out excess engine heat. Airflow w/ box plug uninstalled: 50.64% Airflow w/ box plug installed: 37.16%

@@strancismuscles most bolt-on mods should not void warranty. And before the dealership voids it they would have to prove with out a doubt that your mod caused any damage. Typically just with an intake you might not notice a huge gain. You should gain more mpg, hear more grunt and you might feel a difference when accelerating. I dont know if you could feel a 5-15 hp increase in full size truck though. A tune should net you more hp. But typically most intakes alone with NO tune usually* do nothing but increase engine noise.

Doesn't matter, only time you have to worry is during your smog test and your first one won't be for 4-5 years. Just reinstall your old box before the test. After that your smog test are every other year, just switch it out before your test. I don't have a CARB legal intake on my Mustang, the smog shop didn't even mark it.
