Seeing the pug is like seeing an old friend. And I don't care what you carry as long as you train and carry. Let the haters hate my friend.

I sent my 327 back to S&W for some work, I ask them to replace the cylinder with SS and they did at no charge. Love their customer support. I don’t worry about cylinder erosion.

This is Rich. I'm still laid up and banged up with a dead phone. Thanks Donna my love for letting me use your phone!! 😘😘🇺🇸🇺🇸 I love the looks of so many s&w revolvers. But since about 2008 their quality control has not been good. The Yankee Marshall got a 586 lcomp with a crooked barrel. They told him it was within tolerance. They did finally fix it. I wanted a trr8 for an open carry state, but I don't too pay 1300 dollars for a problem. I love the new Ruger 8 shots also. If I don't win in 8 shots I'm probably dead anyway!! Thanks for your videos and honesty. Rich

I just bought a 327 2 inch and I ordered a lobo pancake holster I have a couple hundred rounds with it I'm surprised at how easy it is to hit head shots at 20 yards this is an awesome gun your vids helped me make the change from a semi auto to the revolver it just makes sense for me at this stage of my life it's so simple to use thanks

I have the full sized version of the pug, the 327 TRR8 5", and it's probably one of my most favorite things ever. If you can get ahold of one to shoot, you would definitely not regret it.

Man, I wish I had the heart to carry an 8shot N frame every day. Some days I still look at the J frame and say, "well you are all I have the heart to carry today little guy". I love the idea of the pug nose, I just can't get over the thickness. I have been thinking about getting one of the new model 66's though. Maybe that will scratch my revolver carry itch a bit better without having to resort to a big boy gun.
@TheOl1911

Yes! I have actually been thinking of the new 66 as well. I don't know anyone at the club that has one yet. But I'm waiting for someone to buy one but I'm not sure if its out yet? Maybe it is. But yeah the Pug is thick for IWB. I didn't like IWB with the pug. It got me just in the right places to make me say forget IWB. I hope you do get a new wheelie!

The only revolver i considered having. Still waiting for my unit. In my country it would take 3 to 6 weeks before getting the pistol you purchased. I am a little disappointed to know about the cylinder errosion but i appreciate that i learned about it because of this channel.

I hear so much about S&W customer service on Performance Center revolvers. It seems they all end of going back for repairs, often many times. For the price these Performance Center revolvers should be perfect almost every time.

I stumbled across your channel while you were doing your series on the 327. Luckily it was on the California roster because once I saw it I had to have it. Have had mind for about a year and although I don't shoot it that often, I absolutely love it. Just my opinion, but the coolest looking revolver out there.

Basement Commando's just do not know the capability of the .357 Magnum cartridge. A well placed strike usually means the fight is over. I have no issues carrying my 2" Colt Lawman as a primary and that 327 snubby is also a fight stopper.

LOL - basement commando's. Love that. Just last night at a shop two millennials as they are called now!? were browsing. Overheard me talking about how I carry a 1911 with one of the sales guys....one guy had to interject and tell me that a 1911 is a bad choice...thumb safety is a death trap....y carry a heavy gun...why not carry a gun that can hold 10 rounds (our limit)... imagine if I was carrying the pug, LOL. he promptly lifted his shirt to expose a G19 with RMR installed and said "This is a true fighting handgun". Also he used a lot of big words from a thesaurus....i could not take him seriously. I think even his friend who also carried a G19 was kinda like, "Ok already" hahahaha

love the puggy, only beef with it is that it seems to have a hard time handling hot loads. if i'm shooting .357, i want to be able to shoot the hot stuff and get all of the performance out of that round that i can. that's one reason why i chose the 686.

Great video, as always. My grandson, who carries an M & P Shield 9mm, a gun I also have and enjoy likes to rib me about my carry guns; a Smith and Wesson 442, or a Rock Island Armory m 206 with the bobbed hammer, depending on my whim of the day, both snub nose revolvers. He says I need to start wearing a 10 gallon hat. 😄 Just curious: Have you looked at the Rock Island Armory? It's an amazing gun, especially when you factor in the price. I bought mine for $274.00 out the door. 6 shots of .38 Special. 26.5 ounces loaded. I really like mine.

Ahhh, would he be considered a millennial? heheheheheh. I said this in another reply to someone else: Just last night at a shop two millennials as they are called now!? were browsing. Anyway RIA? The only one I looked at because a guy at the club had one was a 10mm. Unfortunately he had to send it back for warranty repair. But... I haven't tried any RIA revolvers???? I'll have to look for them to see.
@matthewrobinson4323
@matthewrobinson4323 7 жыл бұрын
He was born in 1993, so I don't know if he's classified as a Millennial or what. Ü The RIA m 206 is modeled after the Colt Detective Special, at least externally. It's a great shooter. It's 10.5 ounces heavier than my Smith and Wesson 442, so it absorbs recoil better, and just a bit larger in size. I really enjoy shooting both of them, but the RIA is easier to shoot.

Not from what i read that you can't shoot 125 grain mag loads through the pug nose.. It's a .357 mag and will digest any .357 mag ammo on the market ... The proof rounds the factory fires through the revolvers before they ship them is hotter than any ammo you will buy over the counter by far.... I shoot an L frame which is 586 which means it's a blued model it came before the 686 , i have thousands of rounds through it .. Darn good service in my book ... I carry it a lot and it has never failed .. I load Gold Dot bullets and have since Speer released them as i'm a handloader and have been for 56 years now.. excellent bullet ...

@TheOl1911 7 жыл бұрын
they are good for me but I do have smaller hands so.... larger hands probably won't be good. I know my bud GunGlutton doesn't like the two finger grip for his hand. But if its for carry I think its a must and just have to deal with it I guess. If not for carry probably look into 3 finger groove grip? Houge is good as it really does reduce felt recoil - the wood grips maybe might poke you upon recoil. VZ grips might be an option as they make different textures. The ones on the pug are Ahrends Grips. Work nicely for me

Can you please tell me how you get the burn marks off your titanium cylinder?! I have a 986 2.5 and a 929 and both have burn marks. The 929 marks were enough that Smith and Wesson asked for return. I did not see signs of erosion nor did they and sent it back. Now it has marks again. I have tried all I know to do while being careful not to be so aggressive to damage the coating.. Smith and Wesson was no help in suggestions on cleaning. I tried the wadding cloth suggested elsewhere. You said you shoot yours a lot and it looks great. Thanks to anyone who responds.

You can try this product made by Hoppes: www.amazon.com/Hoppes-Elite-Cleaner-Bottle-Ounces/dp/B0013RA3A6 You can also try a pencil eraser if you'd like. But burn rings aren't bad. If its left on there so be it. Too much cleaning could do more damage. Good luck.
@johnc3436
@johnc3436 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the response. That is already the only cleaner I use. It does what it says as far as future cleanings becoming easier. My 5 star rating is on Amazon. I don't care about burn rings on the cylinder face. The marks on the sides I mind, they are little flame burns. I don't see them in other pictures on the internet. So I must be doing something wrong, or the ammo I use at the range (Brazer Brass 9mm 115gr) is causing it. But S&W examined the gun (they requested I send it in when I sent them pictures). When they sent it back they must have done something because the marks were reduced. When I asked them what they cleaned it with, they asked I send the gun in again (?). They look bad, but I worry more about the wear. Sorry for the long response but this is the ONLY thing keeping me from buying a 327 pug nose (I have the TTR8 - amazing) . Your videos sold me, I especially like that you showed all was not perfect. I will try the eraser. If you have other thoughts - like about the ammo - please let me know. Thanks again.

I think it's funny that you think that's a lot of wear. lol Just so you know, you can't put a gun through a lot in two or three years. Come back to us in twenty years, once you've carried it for at least ten years and been in combat with that thing a few times. ;)

That is interesting because you and a handful of people out there have also sent their 627 Pro back for light primer strikes. I had to send my 627 Pro back for a sticking cylinder - it would not release. I sold it after I got it back... I can't remember. Maybe that was a different S&W but yes they handle warranty work no questions asked. Thanks for the comment!

***** FYI: The 627 has Now been promoted to the Performance Center Status ?!?! In my opinion, even after S&W service, it's Not a Performance Center Gun (not yet)? I know from talking to Customer Service, the Hammer Spring Chosen is on the edge of performance and reliability (solid spring gives greater firing pin force But Really Bad Trigger Pull, ribbed spring (Wolf, supplied in production) gives smoother trigger pull, But May be a problem with light primer strikes)! S&W CS replaced my firing pin and Yoke ?? Personally I don't think the action is as Smooth as a PC Revolver, but since I don't own a lot of PC Guns, I have nothing to compare it to !

That's lame you catch crap for carrying a wheel gun. All these wannabe Team 6 guys really ruin it. Wheelguns have done well for us for a long time, and I know I'm not rushing into 'Blackhawk Down.' I have stuff for that for fun mainly, but wheelguns have done well by cops for a long time and if it's good enough for an off-duty officer who is far more likely to have to use it than me, I'm content.

Perhaps someday you will have to save the life of one of those haters using a gun that they criticized. Let's see what they say then.
