Nice work as always. I put a new door and hinges on my 68 Coronet once, I used a car jack to support the weight but it was still a tough job. I was about 14-15 and that was one of the first things I ever did to a car. Getting it on there wasn't so hard but lining it up with no prior experience was.

thanks, and i hear that, getting things lined up just right can be a big pain

Very good lesson, especially for the DIY person without a helper. This is a chronic problem with the S-10 and other vehicles. You are a great mechanic and teacher. Well Done!

Good job efurd So many people make the mistake of removing the hinges from the door.
@EfurdGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I never have removed the hinges but i could see where that could be an issue

those welded on hinges are a pain! i mounted my firebird doors by myself ad those suckers weigh like 100 lbs each :P
@EfurdGarage4 жыл бұрын
yes they are a pain lol. i never understood why they started welding them solid
@backyardbuilttrucks14 жыл бұрын
You can get new hinges and weld them back on . could be worse some new stuff they are glued on. Lol

2nd gen firebirds and camaros were famous for that, more like 125+

I made a damn stand out of 1 imch square tube just for this cause 1 person sucks . i have had to weld up holes and redrill them a few times cause would be all egg shaped. I clamp vise grips to pin and tap on vise grips to knock them out.
@EfurdGarage4 жыл бұрын
stand would be handy for sure. i can see some getting that bad for sure

Good video; I appreciate it. I wish you would have shown how to remove and install the door springs, though, and maybe where you get this “remove/install tool”.
@EfurdGarage3 жыл бұрын
well i didnt show it because i kinda did the dangerous way and didnt want to show others just in case. summit racing has it, and one of my local parts stores has it but not all. its best to order a good one
