Hi Jason. It's actually not a Satnav, it's a multimedia console which runs Android Auto (& Apple Carplay). We then use our preferred navigation app on our phone (usually Google Maps or Waze). I can follow your feeling of the beach area. I spent a week in Malaga - around Benalmadena and although the worst of the tourist stuff is closer to the center of Malaga, I felt the same. It just felt artificial and not something I enjoy. I see that it's fine for some people, but not me. I'll take the colder Norwegian fjords and mountains any day of the week and twice on sundays as a vacation spot.

The area around Monte Cofano looks a bit like the Cape Peninsula. I see some Hangklip, Rooiels, Betties Bay, etc. but without the baboons and leopards, and dubiously the houses look totally different. Fun Fact: The Roman Empire was more Greek that Italian...

I remember the first time we hiked around this area back in 2010 thinking exactly the same! Especially on the Zingaro side of the peninsula. Fortunately, no leopards 😁

It's really impressive and although we don't know for sure, we think they may have drilled in a circular pattern to create the enormous columns hence the jagged pattern on the outside of the the columns? 🤷

My wifes ancestors came from Sicily and we have flown over many times during our 10 visits to Malta, except during when Etna became aggressive, when flying to and from Denmark. So maybe also a trip to nearby Malta could be fun, though the many people haven't found out to drive in the right side, in spite of now being Europeans! Finn. Denmark
