This is my favorite song from the entirety of Rebuild of Evangelion. I absolutely love how it captures the sheer desperation and rage that Shinji is probably feeling, through the movie Shinji has only been treated kindly by Kaworu who gives him hope on saving everyone, while everyone else didn’t give him the time of day to even explain anything. Just for Kaworu to then turn around and tell Shinji that they shouldn’t grab the spears

@@dances_with_myself9305 so it seems they know this, and are commenting on the fact that it would end up being used for Evangelion instead of Berserk. Normally if there is a theme one composer doesn't use for a movie or series it may be used on a future project. Think Hanz Zimmer and all the movies he has made. The difference is that this isn't just the music from a different series, but the lyrics as well. Typically if a theme from one work isn't used in that work and is then brought to a different project the lyrics are either removed or changed as they wouldnt make sense in the new context. Shiro Sagisu didn't do that however.

To the point where you actually want to scream for him to get up and do something Spoilers for 3.33 But i feel like after knowing that your efforts to save a girl (who in turn caused the destruction of the world) was basically meaningless, being depressed and wanting to give up is kinda the expected way to go. But his inability to make a concrete resolve is what gets to me, he says he won't get in the robot and then 5 minutes later he gets in the robot. I hate it because it looks like something i would do lol

Unfortunately I don't think Anno is gonna greenlight that. You can argue "But it's Sadamoto's manga". And it's still Anno's creation. We can dream though, because the ending of the manga is just as good as thrice upon a time's ending. And I mean it's basically beat-for-beat the original anime, just the ending is... Not vastly different, but different enough.

I just want to say I love how the overture highlights everyone’s state of mind. It helps explain 3.0 emotionally. 3;00min “wrest, crippled, mental torture, the chance to be immortal !” - this is gendo and seeles perspective on the events. Tired and broken we have a chance to live forever without pain. 3;26 “once friends, betrayed so ruthless ?! Now dead is friend and friendship - these are wille/asuka and Maris perspective on the events. We were great friends but what you’ve done/are trying to do, we cannot forgive you for. 3;51 “once friends betrayed so heartless, memories crushed to Ashes. - the last voice personifies shinji feelings, shinji did all this for everyone else not himself in spite of it being horrific/traumatic for them. And them treating him so cold and heartless he’s forced to do things alone again…meaning the past will never be the same. Haunting but the vocals set the tone for the movie scene really well !
