Just ran across a good video of Andromeda passing a Mainship outside of Ludington. Looking good Don’t think I saw any posting of you crossing your wake
@cruisingandromeda16 күн бұрын
Hello John! We actually crossed our wake this past June. It takes Bob about 4-6 days to complete the videos, so we are a bit behind and reliving it with everyone now :)

With this passage I'm guessing the Salt Life has hooked y'all for good😉. Except for that marina docking, it looked like a pleasant passage with perfect cruising weather.

We are hooked Dr. John! We won't be able to head south this fall, but definitely next fall! This winter we are prepping her for another journey :)

After discovering your channel several weeks ago, I’ve finally caught up! I love watching your adventures and how you overcome adversity. We boat on the Illinois and Mississippi rivers, so your passage down the Illinois was particularly interesting. Safe travels!

Awww, Thank you so much for joining us! The rivers were just incredible to see. We loved it! ( or most of it LOL) :)

Jekyll Island was my "Summer of 42" experience in 1966. Not safe to discuss the movie on YT, but see it if you get the chance. Jekyll was a few summer cottages and one grocery store back then. Thanks for bringing back great teenage memories. Stay safe.

Awww, Thank you for sharing that! I will look up the movie and check it out. We appreciate you :)

Some good cruising music as you were heading north! That shallow water in the marina would’ve had us very uncomfortable - ugh. Hope you didn’t suck too much muck into the strainers. As usual, not much Ollie footage …but I liked seeing the horses on the beach. 😂
@cruisingandromeda2 ай бұрын
Hello Kari! Thank you!! Once the tide rolled out and we saw how rocky and shallow the pass was......it was quite scary! We made sure to leave at high tide lol. So sorry about the lack of Ollie footage! Hopefully the next one is better :)

Pretty neat passing thru Ponte Vedra neighborhood. Great job getting into your slip. I would have been in a panic with a 22 ft pontoon!! ;)
@cruisingandromeda2 ай бұрын
Hello Bobby! We were definitely on edge! Especially once we were docked and watched the tide roll in and out and saw all the rocks!! YIKES!

Glad you go to see horse(s) on Cumberland. Some loopers have gotten lucky a seen a submarine coming in to or going out of St Mary's. Jekyll about a 3 hour drive from my house. go there several times a year. Have started going to the marina to see if any loopers about. At least you were on a slack tide. No idea how people get inside and into a slip with the current ripping the way it does. They should have told you that the town center with restaurants was about a mile away. I thought they had a courtesy car there that you could have used

What was the water depth in the wetlands?
@cruisingandromeda2 ай бұрын
Hello Jeffrey! It varied a lot, but in the wider open areas it tended to be deeper, 15-20+ feet. We stayed in the channel, so it was at least 12 feet. The Army Core of Engineers is responsible for maintaining 12 feet minimum for commercial traffic. Marina entrances are a different story. We just try to get clear info from them before we enter. And always watch the channel markers and tides! Keeps us on our toes for sure!
