Why not go with their MaxxECU solution for the AAN? I believe you could have kept the stock AAN harness and not re-wire everything.

Yep, they do have a drop in version. I believe at the time I ordered they had the classic v1 pnp when I went with this. I don't recall seeing the others like they have now. I actually didn't mind running new wire though, it was pretty satisfying haha.

I was wondering how much these can handle on stock internals I can’t find anything on them

They are good for around 400whp with stock everything. With upgraded rods around 600whp is theoretically possible. They are pretty stout

I thought than maxxecu is realy plug in ecu for AAN but you should do all wiring by yourself?

They do offer a complete PNP solution that comes with an adapter harness utilizing the OEM motronic 55pin plug. TBH I wanted to run new wiring anyway and this model is newer. 👍

for the automatic transmission does the new stand alone ecu still need to communicate with the original TCU TCM?

It depends on the standalone you get and which TCU you have. MaxxECU Pro supports a few out of the box.

Hey man random question here but are you running stock cooling or do you have an upgraded radiator? I’m pushing estimated 4-500hp on my s6 on stock radiator and having some cooling issues. However my slight overheating and boiling after a drive may have been due to a cheap aftermarket expansion tank and cap. Would you find an aluminum radiator if you were me ? Where would I find one? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Hey there! I am actually still on the OEM radiator. These cars do seem to run pretty hot though depending on your climate. I'm planning to do an electric fan conversion with the highest flowing fans I can fit. I was looking into getting an aluminum rad off of a member who sells them on s2forum. Hope that helps 👍👍
