Can you run the nb throttle body and iacv on stock 1.6 ecu? Wondering because I’ve got a bp4w swapped na
@supercarmio14 күн бұрын
AFAIK - unless you have some additional circuitry built out, no. 1.6 TPS is super simple (idle/wot) vs variable in NB (and auto/1.8 NAs)

Excellent, excellent video. I'm doing this project now. In trying to remove the crank bolt, though, I accidentally rotated the crank itself. The cams were locked but hopefully I haven't broken anything. I think I'll try removing the balancer belt with the bolt still on before I buy a new impact. Then hopefully I can just line up the crank/rear balancer timing marks and put everything back together. Fingers crossed!

@@supercarmio One question, if I may...at 05:54 you have the little wire going to the ps pump disconnected. How the heck did you get that connector off? I've tried squeezing it, poking it, twisting it, cursing at it, asking politely, and nothing. It's such a small wire I don't want to apply too much force but I don't see any obvious release tabs.

Hey there. I'm new to tuning. There's no dyno in my country so I have someone helping me etune. I recently put in a bigger turbo and I had new stock oem injectors that I was running. I decided to use FIC 950cc injectors with the new turbo. When I installed it, I'm running lean and cutting off. I got it to idle but it wasn't idling rich. My tuner scaled the injectors and now it's not starting and when it does its super lean. I changed all the fuel components to new parts. New pump, braided lines, rail and fpr. I'm not sure why the injectors aren't scaling. I get 5v at the injector clips. When I put back the oem. It runs fine but I'm getting a knock at WOT. If you could provide any input I would appreciate it
@supercarmio8 ай бұрын
Hello! Sorry to hear you are running into issues. Some questions: What kind of scaling numbers/latencies are you running? What is the state of your battery/charging system? What is the voltage coming into the injector resistor pack? For knock, what kind of counts are you getting? Is it repeatable at a given load/rpm? In my experience these cars are super sensitive to timing at peak tq. What kind of timing are you running there?
@sayyidferouz38808 ай бұрын
@@supercarmio Hello, appreciate the response. Forgive me if I say the wrong things, I am new to tuning. The injectors are scaled to 835cc and it's not running at all now. When I first installed and it was scaled for stock, they ran but the afr was 14.7 to 15.1 at idle, I thought it would be super rich. I only get knock during WOT, I get about 6 counts, this was with the OEM injectors. It happens consistently and only during WOT. I wish I could give you the rest of information but I am pretty new to tuning. I have the rom file that my tuner sent me. I log using Evoscan, I have a ZT2 logger installed. This is all new to me and I hit a wall. I can put back the OEM injectors and they run well but then I started getting knock. I have to check voltage at the resistor pack.
@sayyidferouz38808 ай бұрын
@@supercarmio so I got access to the Merlins how to tune guide and saw that the tuner did not adjust the latency values to match the FIC 950cc injectors. So I adjusted the values and will try that ROM when I am home. If that works I'll let you know.
@supercarmio8 ай бұрын
@@sayyidferouz3880 Cool yeah sounds good! I would hold off on WOT runs until you get the injectors sorted. Also double check the voltages at the resistor box.

If a hydraulic line is stubborn to undo on a Master or Slave cylinder, or a Brake Calliper, never force it. After lubricating the line nut, undo the cylinder or calliper itself from the car, hold the line nut still in vice grips and rotate the cylinder or calliper if possible, this stops the hydraulic line from twisting or tearing. It's not always possible if you're short of space, but saves a lot of headaches if you have room.

If anyone is having trouble with the crank bolt, which is what I ran into, mine was stuck on there, my impact could not get it off. There are two ways to get it off, first is get a specific 22mm socket for taking off crank/harmonic bolts, they are $10-$20 on amazon. Or you can go to autozone and and borrow a tool for free, the tool is "OEMTOOLS Fan Clutch Holding Tool Part # 57270", you can use the crank pulley bolts to attach it to the sprocket and hold the crank while you break loose/torque down the crank bolt. Also great video thanks for making it!
