I’m about the same height. No problem for me. Maybe very slightly higher. Of course I was sitting in a hole in the old bench seat so….zero regrets so far!

So correct me if i’m wrong but what exact electronic connections are made in the swap? Both seat weight sensors? Is there a center one and if so what is done for that? I have a set of 2006 bucket seats i found at a scrap yard, both manual w/o airbag.

Only weight sensor is the passenger seat on the bench. If you pull you harness off the bench, the only connections you will make is the two seatbelts.easy peasy!

@@1234jhanson i assume those seatbelt connections are self explanatory, and i have to reuse the floor mount seatbelt female holsters while discarding the seat mounted ones from the 4runner seats.

4th Gen 4 runners are 2003-2009. They should all have the same bolt pattern on the floor. I don’t see why they wouldn’t fit perfectly. Good luck!

@@satchelcasalini7874 I did swap the seats out,however I bought some bucket seats from the same year tacoma. Could not figure out the airbag wiring. So I left everything intact under the seat. I will have to to do something about it before my inspection sticker is due. I used 4 bolts that attached the back of the bench seat to bolt down the buckets. What a difference these have made!

For the center console, did you find bold or screw holes existing under the carpet or did you drill your own?

I drilled self tappers.

Did you reused the entire wiring harnnet from the bench, seat to be use with 4runner seats? is the same size connectors?

Yes, reused the entire harness. Plugs are the same

I’m sure they will. If the thick backed 4 runner seats work, those Tacoma seats should as well. The seat bolt pattern should be exactly the same.
