That’s what I call properly shot shockers! I replaced the rear ones on my ZT and left the old ones with the old rods pushed down and no movement after 2 months 😅Handling characteristics was interesting to say the least 🤣

ZT is a nice car👌 There used to be quite a few around where I live, but not so many any more.

@@stefansworld3351 They have reached the age of not economically viable to repair long time ago now. But like Saab both MG Rover has the quirks and identity that I like. Only 45 ZT’s was sold in Norway and barely 20 are left! I like the Saab you’ve got. Looks and feels more like a proper Saab than the newer generation despite it also is built on a GM platform ☺️

So do they just mount to the upper part of the wheel well? My girlfriends car has totally rusted out there and there just a big hole above the shock and the shock has come loose with the nut on top still attached, the shock itself is of course totally shot like yours. Is her car doomed?

No. It just needs a proper welding repair and if it's disappeared, then cut a section from a donor car and piece it in. It's a common place for them to rot as the mud collects 👌
