I am in the process of trying to fix my 2010 93X (it is also white, FYI) and I would love to know where you got the parts to repair the clutch so i can do the same
@Retiq6 ай бұрын
Hey at this time in the video I was working at a Saab dealership and ordered most parts straight thru the shop. I would look at europarts, esaabparts, fcp euro, I think there’s a couple other places to buy new parts but I can’t think I’ll comment them if I rember

What was the issue with diff, vibrations as well? To drop off you have deattached only stab bar? Anything else?
@Retiq Жыл бұрын
I think in video I mentioned the issue. Light on for service xwd, and the fluid kept flowing into diff I believe it’s been a while since I’ve watched video. But you don’t have to pull axles to remove diff just driveshaft and mounting bolts and connector can’t rember if there’s anything else

Fantastic video Danny. Is this first time you have had this issue with the AWD system? Your SAAB has virtually no rust. Impressive. Do you use an anti-corrosion product to protect the under-carriage of the car? Six years ago, I brought a 2003 9-5 wagon from Brooklyn down to Florida. The underside of the car was covered in rust everywhere. I took the car to a car restoration garage in Orlando. They applied a rust converter anti-corrosion spray to the entire underside of the car. They cut out and replaced a rusted-out dog leg section by the right rear passenger door and sprayed an expanding foam product in between the sheet metal panels to prevent future rust. It's working very well. No sign of rust. Take care and Merry Christmas.

Hiyaa this is the first time Iv done this repair to fix the AWD. This is actually a customers car when I used to work at a saab dealership. I did have a turbo x tho. That good I would like that done on my saab 900 the dog legs re rusted after a long time previous owner had them done
@yhird Жыл бұрын
@@Retiq The restoration shop that did the dog leg work told me there was a kit available for the 9-5 dog leg repair. His technician cut out the old, rusted section and welded in the replacement section from the kit. Hopefully there is a similar kit available for the 900. Thanks Danny. Cheers.

New sub here. Got a question. What would you assume a issue could be for a saab xwd that seems to not be getting any rear wheel power and its not throwing any codes? Here next week ill be lifting the car off the ground just to see if they move at all. Kinda thinking clutch back cage might be cracked, allowing it to spin and not transfer power. On lunch, im about to watch this brakedown
@Retiq9 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for the sub! Sorry for late reply. Why do you say the xwd isn’t working? I believe these cars are a fwd bias. So it can adjust how much power is sent to rear wheels but it’s not very high, nor is the xwd super strong. It’s not the same as some 4x4 like trucks or cars that generally have rwd bias. It’s more like a helping hand. It should spin all tires in the air. Turn of traction control while you do it.
@MrMckenzie24039 ай бұрын
@Retiq no problem. A late one is better than nothing! We had a good snow, during that snow i was getting no help in the rear, front tires spinning nothing from the rear. I was on a slight incline that i was trying to back up on and was getting stuck in a driveway forward and reverse. I plan to get the car off the ground. Was hoping this weekend, but my friend is working. I do need to service the xwd. I Have all the fluids. Thank you for the reply! I know this one is hard to diagnose, i might wait till we are okay with the car being down for a few days a see what i can figure out. Newer to the xwd. Own a few v6 saabs myself
@Retiq9 ай бұрын
@@MrMckenzie2403 okay well deff hard diag from here. But how about the tires? Same quality and tread depth on all four tires? It may be smart and trying to change which tires are spinning to less power and give more power to other now spinning tires… but just a guess. Sorry. I did donuts in my turbo x in one video and it was giving me enough rwd to slide it around
@MrMckenzie24039 ай бұрын
@Retiq ahh i wasnt paying attention. The tread looks good now does not mean it does not need tires as their kinda hard. Will be looking for a bew set. We don't drive the car a lot but it does get used. Ill eventually figure this out. For how picky they can be could of just been the type of roads we had at that time. It was snow. Yet ice. Really just need to get it off the ground asap. When i figure it out if its anything ill let you know.
