Already fragile peace in the Middle East was broken when Egypt closed a major shipping canal to Israeli vessels. Israel declared war, launching pre-emptive airstrikes. Jordan and Syria intervened, but all three nations were defeated, losing 20,000 troops. @@TheCombatEditor62 its part of the whole 'no doing work or conducting business on shabbat' thing. so even - discussing - business isn't normally allowed. however 'pikauch nefesh' roughly translated as 'the preservation of life' is one of - the - highest principles of judaism, one that can over ride just about every other commandment, so while I was being a little tongue in cheek about it, signing a peace accord on sabbath is not only permissible, but REQUIRED. (since the alternative of waiting for the next day... while it would have been an absolute boss tier power move to be like 'yeah we won, but todays our day of rest, so nah we will wait'... would have also resulted in more deaths, which would have violated pikauch nefesh.)

not a miracle considering the weapon technology disparity that israel had comparing to the other nations, but yeah, indubitably a important event in african and middle east history

@@BennyDACHO alright pal, first of all, stop with that dichotomy bullshit, israel had slightly modern land vehicles (i will talk about that down in this comment) than the arabs, and massively dominated the sky in that conflict, also i think that it's funny when you bring the number 42 million against 2.6 million, and that brings a image of a battle where every israel soldier had to attack and sustain fight against around 16 enemys, but in fact the arabs deployed around 275 thousand soldiers against about a 100 thousand of israeli forces, now, about the tatics, israeli combat doctrine was proven to be surely superior, as the first israel strike against Egypt, in that 5 of june, destroyed basically the entire egyptian air force, soon after that, israel charged towards Sinai, Gaza and Golans heights, killing not only enemys but also 16 UN peacekeepers, (air attack followed by a land advance, like the bad guys did in WWII, hehe right?), and in 8 of june israel even sunk a u.s. research vessel, woundind hundreds and killing dozens of people aboard the USS Liberty (let that sink in?), Egypt didn't had an small army, but couldn't do shit agaisnt a surprise attack, now, bringing it to technical terms, arabs did have some MBT, like the Patton and the T-54/55, but the core of the arab armored division was formed by middle 40's vehicles, like the T-34/85, the Su-100/152, hell, they even had to put panzers back to work trying to fight against israel smaller forces, formed by Centurions, AMX, Super Shermans and even newer Pattons, so, if you can prove that israel had inferior equipment, i'd love to read it, but if you cant, well, shame, mainly because i don't know jackshit about that war, right?

@@BennyDACHOto be fair, Israel was literally propped up by the British since the beginning, step by step, a hundred years ago. Then the U.S. picked up the responsibilities after the British fell off.
@ericharrison7518 Жыл бұрын
@@senseishu937During this time frame there was actually a lull in western support for Israel. Basically every major war fought by Israel was without western support, whether it be the 1948 Independence war, where the west flat out refused to send weapons to Israel, the Six Day war where the US had an arms freeze on Israel, not to mention the political shenanigans at the UN trying to undercut the Israeli victories literally every day of the war, or the Yom Kippur war, where again, the West had frozen support for Israel. It was only after the 1973 Yom Kippur war that Western support truly opened up without conditions for several decades, before the inevitable rise of anti Semitic attitudes within the political parties of the West has again caused strained relations with Israel.

@@BennyDACHO Real funny how some people lie. Egypt Syria and Iraq used mostly soviet tanks that included t34-85 t54 t55 pt-76 su100/152. Only Jordan used M47 M48 and M48A1 Patton tanks. All of them considerably older than Israeli arms witch included M50 M51 M48A3 Centurion and AMX-13. APC and IFVs the only place where Israelis were behind. Airforce was more or less matched. Ground arms where Israel had the biggest advantage over Port Said submachine guns, AK-47,RPK,RPD and DShK vs Israeli Uzis and FNs with actual WGATM that arabs didn't have as they only had recoilless rifles. Syria was already unstable with coups. "In; discipline, training, morale, equipment and general competence his [Nasser's] army and the other Arab forces, without the direct assistance of the Soviet Union, are no match for the Israelis." (James Reston). Arabs were already very unstable and with the backing of western arms to Israel war was clearly on Israels side as they literally attacked first knowing they will win. But oh IDF keep lying and some people that can't read might actually believe those lies.

First they blew the pagers to send em rushing to the radios. Then they blew the radios and the only way to communicate was face-to-face. Then they blasted em too. What’s next? Explosive gravestones and coffins to take out the dudes at the funerals? It’s like watching a predator tear into the carcass of some animal. God Bless the IDF!

@CaptainBill2210 ай бұрын
@@quantuman100 Everyone knows that 5 countries conspired to invade and destroy Israel, and they responded by striking them first. Israel only took out military installations, the land they invaded like Sinai was peacefully returned to Egypt. Golan, Jerusalem, the East Bank, and Gaza belonged to Israel in the first place so you can't really call that an invasion.
@quantuman10010 ай бұрын
@@CaptainBill22 Sinai was "peacefully returned" because Kissinger wanted to bind Egypt to the American sphere of influence, the Israeli settlers were very upset that they had to leave, (so upset that they went on record cursing Egypt as they demolish the things they build out of spite) because the original plan was "from the river to the river". and no, Golan, Gaza and West bank did not belong to Israel, hence why nothing outside radical Zionist propaganda from before the war showed it being Israel. And lastly, yes, Egypt was SOOOOOOOOO getting ready to invade, they launched the totally defensive preemptive war (where have we heard that one before) while the Egyptian president was heading to the USA to have America arbitrate between the parties.
