During WWI, Italy and Austro-Hungary fiercely fought for control of the Alps on their respective borders. The fighting was among the fiercest and toughest in the war and produced some of the most elite soldiers. During the fighting on an area now called Blood Mountain, both sides launched artillery barrages at the same time resulting in a massive avalanche that buried thousands of troops on either side. To this day, those men are still up there, frozen in time. On occassion, the snow melts enough for a body to be recovered, his equipment and uniform perfectly preserved.

Something strangely heartwarming is that those battlefields are starting to thaw, exposing the bodies that were left behind. A few years ago, some equipment was found and some bodies were recovered and sent for proper burials. Those boys finally get to go home after over a hundred years.

The band was not actually in the Alps for this video. From what I heard ,they filmed it in a parking lot, on a very hot day. Song is on the 2022 10th album, The War to End All Wars.

Hell yeah! I was at the Glasgow concert (about 12 rows back). It was my first concert in over 20 years just to see them. The next day I too was on a lot of painkillers. I couldn't feel my legs, lol.

It's amazing what music does to us. There are a limited amount of tones. You add rythm to it. Combine tones together and all of a sudden our heart is resonating. It grabs us by the throat. What is that? Music = wonder.

Who doesn't know - great note and song. Who knows - they are still there today. Several thousand soldiers have been at their posts, on eternal guard, for over 100 years. Most of them didn't even know when they started eternal guard. Frost and snow were their biggest enemies

Loved your reaction, I had a long text written but i deleted it coz it got to depressing. Sabaton just finds these stories frozen in time. I wish i was 30 years younger coz i feel i was born in wrong time. Metal when i was a teen was something u could get beat up for when i was like 15. now in these u tube times i can find so many awesome videos and reactions with men and women i wouldnt even know. most women i knew in the 80´s who were metal heads were drug atics or stupid. Now theres awesome women reacting to music i love and it makes me so happy. Sorry guys if i come across as a lonely old guy. u are awesome, ty. Be safe

Of all the fronts during WW1 i think i would rarher take my chances in the air. Only fighting the cold while flying seems more tollerable then fighting the freezing cold or fighting the rain,mud,rats and heat. There are some history doc on here that talk about Italian front. You really need to start watching the Sabaton History before or after you listen to the music.

Great song, great video! There's a reactor who analyses music videos, she was pointing out where the boundary between studio and background was but also praising them for the job they did of not making it obvious. And yes, a perfect song for the car.

So that LOTL song is not one of my favs. Gonna be honest I think I’m stuck in the Thornstar Era. Judas had some bangers but this last album didn’t move me when I saw it live. I’ve been to quite a few of their shows and done some reactions to them.

What is with the high heels beside you? I thought instead of those there would be doc martens boots like most of the metal community has lol.....This one is one of the ones that rings home for me because my great grandfather fought on that alpine front, and by luck he caught malaria after the first battle of Piave and was sent to the rear to the military hospital in Vienna which saved his life. ( fought on the Austrian-Hungarian side ww1 for those who are wondering since he was from Bohemia)
