My grandpa fought in the European theater and he worshipped the ground Audie Murphy walked into. Stories about him spread like wildfire and boosted morale everywhere. We watched Murphy westerns until grandpa passed away.

Even when he was starting to get Alzheimer's, my grandpa could still tell me of the day he and the others learned of Murphy's success. I can't imagine what he must have suffered throughout the years, and yet, thank God that we had brave souls like Murphy to fight off the enemy.
