I apologize for the music from 0:36-0:39ish, Due to the video reaching so many people out of respect to the company Loren worked for we decided to edit out their name (Since the subtitles butchered the name i kept them in so you could still know what else he was saying in between him saying the company's name) and the music was the quickest and easiest way to do so :) Thank you all for the support so far! We had no idea people would care this much about Loren and his condition and we are overwhelmed with love and support!

This is extremely tragic, but stay positive about this. We live in a time where robotics are making HUGE strides! Since it appears his spine made it through, he is a perfect candidate for robotic limbs. The signals will come from his brain, but having the spine not damaged, he is going to have amazing control over the robotic limbs. Just think " Robocop" , because that is where we're headed with all of the technology these days. The robotic limbs he WILL get will allow him to do things he could not do with his actual arm and legs. He should never think, 'how will I survive without 3 of my limbs? , because he is going to have them back, just robotic
@killmoreturtles5 жыл бұрын
I'm going to contact a few places that may find your story very interesting( for lack of a better term). Obviously robotic limb technology is very expensive, but the recent leaps in this field will likely mean he is a great candidate for testing the most recent technology. There are likely going to be people that will be dedicating a lot of time and energy on helping him, but it will be beneficial to them as well. Many of these companies are in a race to be the " top dog" when it comes to this field, and he will likely benefit because of this. Remember , EVERYTHING happens for a reason! Stay positive!

Dude's entire life changed because other people couldn't be bothered to do the _bare minimum._ Couldn't be bothered to obey traffic laws and observe a work zone, couldn't be bothered to train him properly before putting him in a forklift. Someone else didn't want to be inconvenienced even for a moment and he's the one who suffered the consequences. As inspiring as Loren is for pressing forward and for all the support he has around him, all at such a young age, people need to take away that _THIS_ is why you need to pay attention and do things the right way even when it's not "convenient" for you. You're not the main character. You're not the only one who's going to have to pay for your dumb decisions.

The bigger problem is that roads were monopolized by the government, and the government sucks at maintaing the roads. They hire companies usually based on being the cheapest or based on nepotism rather than quality. They also avoid hiring third shift companies, because they usually aren't unionized, and first and second shift is the most dangerous time to do road maintenance. The government also pays for jobs in an inefficient way that causes ridiculous delays and lengthy times, which exacerbates the problem of people annoyed in work zones.

@@dreamerqueennotunderthemachineyou are so brave! Illnessess that mess with your mental health are horrible. Because you don't only have to fight the normal sadness because of your illness but also clinical depression because of malfunction of neurotransmitter release and so on. Immune system issues eat up your hydrocortisol (a hormone our bodies produce) which is absolutely vital for blood sugar levels AND has a huge positive impact on your mental wellbeing and lots of other important things. I am talking out of experience. Luckily I have found a doctor who prescribeds hydrocortisol. Without it I am enormously fatigued and severely depressed and no amount of willpower can change that. I don't know if you could get the medication but maybe you could do some research. I do so hope that you find some meds that reduce your suffering! Btw I am diagnosed with ME/CFS, small fibre syndrome, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome. As before mentioned I take hydrocortisol .And I take also some anti-depressants against the fibromyalgia pains. I wish you all the best!.

I know right? How can he be so cheerful? Sheesh.
@pynkannihilator Жыл бұрын
Because when you think for a minute, what good is it being sad/negative after? It certainly won’t help. Having a positive attitude I’m sure isn’t easy, but what good does moping around do for anyone? How you approach certain things in life and your attitude about it, is what will pull you through.

J Wite Im happy, no problem. But lets look these two happy teens after 2 years. These kids doesnt know this guy is full of morphine
@Jamie.w17495 жыл бұрын
Alfasaurus morphine is a painkiller, it’ll reduce his pain but not his outlook at the situation and how he is handling it. How he’s being strong and not breaking down is all because of himself. No matter what medication I would be in tears and nowhere near as strong as him, and you are in no right to comment and say negative stuff. Why wouldn’t you just be positive and support him like everyone else is?

Couples who can support eachother and stick together through hard times are special. Best of luck to you two. You’re extremely brave and strong. I know it gets hard but keep up the great work ❤️

You survived a hemicorporectomy. Something we pretty much consider as unsurvivable in medicine. I’m amazed. You are amazing. I wish you all the very best with your future and I hope you keep going with all the fantastic support you have round you. Loads of good vibes my dude

A hemicorporectomy is "just" a type of very extended surgery. Why should it be pretty much unsurvivable? It is a risky surgery indeed, I totally agree, but the risks are more or less controllable. I think the really, really amazing thing is how he survived the time from accident to emergency room and the induction of the first anaesthesia.
@floatingchimney2 жыл бұрын
@@nothingbutwahala She was probably thinking of traumatic hemicorporectomy - which is pretty much non-survivable unless you happen to be standing right next to a hospital when it happens. Surgical one is complex and risky procedure, fragile and old patients are at a significant risk of dying on the table. His pelvis was crushed, it wasn't transected/amputated in any way as far as I remember when I listened to his story.

Will he live a life of normal length or will losing all of these body parts shorten his life immensely??
@floatingchimney2 жыл бұрын
@@solsticequeen Patients like these have shorter lifespan due to high amounts of medications that damage organs in long term. There is also a risk of complications with wounds, urine drainage and skin ulcers that can lead to premature death.
