I saw Pantera in 1995 in Dallas. Hockey rink with plywood covering the ice and that fake green patio grass covering that. As soon as the lights went out the patio grass was lit on fire. When Pantera came on the plywood was pulled up and people were stage diving off of them. The crowd just held them up. I took my shirt off at the start of the show and threw it as far as I could. My buddy found it after the show half torched. Wildest concert I ever went to.

I saw them a long time ago. It was 91. It was the Vulgar Display of Power tour. They were with White Zombie. Those two bands together were amazing! I saw them in Norfolk VA at a place called the Boat House. It was a bunch of barges with a building on it........floating on a river! There was a lot of movement to say the least. I can remember a guy climbing the sprinkler system and dropping maybe 15ft into the crowd! Madness! I was 15. Best concert I ever saw. That was the first of many bands I saw. Much later, after the military and marriage, my wife and I saw Pantera at Ozzfest in 2000. It was July 4th in Atlanta Ga. I think I stayed drunk from 9am until midnight! That one was cool because my wife had never seen them. That night we also saw a side stage act called Disturbed. We both got severely sunburned, temporarily lost our hearing, and lost our car keys. Helluva night.

I was so confused at the start...I thought maybe you'd uploaded the wrong video or something, lol. You're absolutely right about two things in this one; first, Pantera definitely killed it live back in the day, and second, yeah, this sort of music (and I mean all the heavy, aggressive punk to metal stuff) is great for getting out your frustrations. Yes, good metal like this is excellent 'rage therapy'. A new study concluded that metalheads are happier people overall, with one of the likely theories being that the music is an excellent way to release stress & anger; cathartic. I couldn't agree more, after 40 years of being one myself. Pantera was phenomenal live. On another note, if you want a deep rage therapy & cathartic metal song about betrayal, check out "All Love Is Lost" by Body Count (Ice-T's metal band)...scary.

If you read this, I love the little gaffe on the band name, lol... just at the beginning and so far i see a great reaction coming... please see Cemetery Gates, it might just blow your mind to see the range of this groove/heavy driven band, it is very different than Walk... pretty much everything they did was perfect for what they were trying to do... oh, and just a little piece for you... they started out as a "glam band"... yep, thats right... big hair, makeup and tights, lol... they went the right way... what you were seeing in the mosh-pit is what is called stage diving and/or crowd surfing and it can get insane with people jumping from like 20+ feet (up to about 90' is the ax I've heard about) onto the crowd Edit: and absolutely do "Domination Live"... something like 1.4 million people in that croud
