To the folks asking if they can buy a home before turning 55, a few years ago I rented a patio villa for a couple of weeks. The patio villa was owned by residents who were under age 55. They lived about 2 blocks away from the rental home. So they owned 2 homes in The Villages before turning 55.

Linda - If you bought Forever stamps they are still good regardless of what you paid for them. Always buy Forever stamps.

See if your stamps say “Forever” at the bottom. If they do, you can still use them even if the price of stamps goes up. You don’t have to use additional stamps. Just the one is still fine.

Your stamps are "forever" stamps. The price was 60cents and recently went up to 62cents, but yours are still good for mailing letters. I am a retired Postmaster after 33 years of service. Good luck. Butch from Louisville Kentucky.

Linda, if you bought forever stamps at the post office you don’t need to worry about postage increases. You can use them without adding any additional postage. The next time you buy they will just be the new price. If you didn’t buy forever stamps I wouldn’t use those old stamps you talk about. They may become keepsakes. Just get the additional stamps at the post office and definitely get forever stamps the next time. Love your channel! Stay well!

LOL. Keepsakes? A dealer will not even give you face value for a US stamp issued within the past 50+ years unless you come across a printing error! And, Forever stamps have been out since 2007. How does anybody not know about them? They even have the word 'Forever' printed on them! What did you think that means? 🤣🤣🤣

Even though the amenity fees are a great value considering what we get, I think we could do without the people that open/ wave at the gates if it would lower the fees, or keep the fees from getting any higher.

If you only use your Villages home for vacations, as we've been doing until we're ready to retire and make it our permanent home, consider renting a golf car by the week instead of buying one used. We paid $125 for one full week from Villages Golf Cars, a relatively low cost with no worries about maintenance or upkeep. We'll definitely buy one when we move there, but for right now, renting makes more sense (at least for us).

Duke Energy in North Carolina burns all the trash for power plants.. The furnaces are so hot that the garbage is turned into a dust which is collected and disposed of..

I had a flat tire on a golf cart rental from the Villages Golf Cars last October down by the Water Lilly Bridge... Called them and they had a sales person come down with a replacement cart within 15 minutes. He stayed with the disabled cart and when I came back by about 25 minutes later someone was there with a truck and they were winching it up on the trailer.

Jerry & Linda still talking...how 'bout that! I'm NOT 55 BUT I've moved to the tropics to drive a Greyhound (Australia) bus permanent part time. I'm 'gearing down' for retirement! There's NO inclusive activity fees in this downtown boarding house to potentially opt out of. Nice motel rooms on the road 3-4 nights per week (with a portable breathalyzer for sign-on next day 😑). Hi Linda, I've sold Avon, Tupperware, Candles, Pampered Chef , Mary Kay and Amway at different times in my life. They were fun while they lasted! I wouldn't want to eliminate any of the amenities. Like you both, I don't participate in everything available here, but in case I change my mind and want to, it's here! Hmmmmm.....thinking about croquet. 😊 Nothing caught me off guard. I did the lifestyle stay 3 times and I knew I wanted to live here no matter what! I do miss the clothing stores like Macy's, Bloomingdales and Lord and Taylor. That track runs through at the end of my street in Belleview, half a mile away, and there are 5 crossings close together. Good thing I like trains!😆 But that's the only one I can think of that runs anywhere near TV.

Hi Jerry & Linda! I worked as a deck officer for Holland America line for 10 years. If I would recommend Alaska, I would choose the week cruise departing from Vancouver to Seward. You have late sails and long port stays, so plenty time to explore and eat out if you like (that’s what the crew do). In addition you can add a land tour when you arrive in Seward towards Denali National park with the train departing from Seward, next to the ships berth. Never been to the National park, but from the stories it’s beautiful!

Yea,... ! You got your stamps back,.. !! I am guessing,.. but probably, those are 'Forever' stamps,.. we buy them at a certain given price, & they are good to send a standard single card/letter, etc., so the USPS says, 'forever,' ... even if the price goes up on a standard single letter stamp,.. and it will, but you can use these, as is, til you run out,.. Then we have to buy more at the new current price,.. I am using my supply of forever stamps as needed, but eventually will have to buy more,... 😀

When I first moved to the area, I wasn't used to not having all the stores and conveniences (having lived in Orlando for 23 years prior) but at least we have the more familiar stores and restaurants in Spanish Springs (ie. Target, Kohls, Chick Fila) 2. Age didn't even come up when we were in the process of buying our courtyard villa (I was 42). Lastly, I enjoy seeing the variety of golf carts but have not been in one or don't own one (yet). p.s. I always enjoy your Bloopers! Keep up the good work!

How's the night life there? I keep seeing and hearing that everything shuts down by 9pm. Is that true? I'm 37, work from home and a night owl, so it would be a shame that there isn't anything to do at night on the weekends. I'm single, no kids, and not married, how are young people perceived there? Have you had any issues? The reason I want to move there is mainly for how active the entire place is. I'm an active person and this would be the ideal place to move to and enjoy warmer weather compared to where I'm at now (Idaho). Thanks in advance.

Im new ‘round these parts, but it seems to me there should be a sliding schedule for the amenities fee. My idea might be a bit crazy…a set schedule of increases based on years of ownership. Tied to each property from purchase date and capped at say 10% every two years up to 6 years, and 5% there after until 12 years. Not to exceed a total of 50% over all. My thinking is that folks who buy new and/or flip around are going to incur the highest costs, those who buy or already own in the longest standing areas will be able to stabilize their costs over time. Not to mention the scheduled increases would be “proactive” rather than “reactive” and those who are most likely using the amenities are paying the most for them. Just an idea 🤔.

We are coming fir a lifestyle visit in the beginning of march...but we have been to Alaska, land,cruise, and train ..unbelievable beautiful.. one of are best trips ever!!! We flew into fairbanks and worked are way back to the cruise ship with all the stop and ended in Canada..love to go again

Love the jokes this week! For those moving here the first few months you are inundated with contractors coming to sell you water treatment and Landscaping mostly. Not all of them are honest. But there are good contractors and getting into next door is really the best thing to do. I'm still watching as my neighbors get all their Landscaping done to see who's I like the best. I had some guys who offered to exchange my tree in front for a palm tree and I broke down and got that. I love it though. Alaska sounds good but I think you have to be careful about timing due to weather

Most stamps today are "forever" stamps. Pay once and that's that. If it doesn't say Forever on the stamps, then ask the post office. Hope this helps.

I saw on this show an ad for northern tire which is friends of mine located 25 miles south of me. We live at the tip top of nh. It was cool to see his ad on a show I look forward to watching .

Blue Fin has a great Brunch on the weekend - especially the Bloody Mary (you can get non alcoholic) it comes with delicious bacon, celery, olives in it - DELICIOUS! We finally made it there the last time we were in town.

None of those examples are as costly to maintain as golf courses, so the non golfers subsidize the golfers, and you tout the free golf but to be of value the free golf must be available when and where you want to play.
