Damn i can’t believe people actually like this. The beat is what a producer thinks phonk is when they only listened to one phonk track and tried to infuse it with hip hop. This track may show some form of growth into another direction but this aint it. Nothing special about this track just some points of cohesion but ultimately lost by the production. Sad cause I was really looking forward to this track
@shane_l808511 ай бұрын
I think you've got it backwards there, Phonk took from hip hop (Memphis rap) and infused it with dance music. Everything else is just a throwback to Memphis. I think the beat slaps but sure.. it's nothing new, I'll agree on that.

This is like accusing Wu-Tang of biting Griselda. Open up your fucking palette my guy.
@WinedandDined2711 ай бұрын
@@knomercyproductions what? Lmao not at all. First of all Griselda doesn’t sound like wu tang, if anything it sounds like Raekwon specifically, but their beats and flow bare zero comparison to RZAs beats or the flows/cadence of any other wu member. Not to mention, wu tang is bigger than Griselda might ever be, so they have no reason to copy them lol, you can’t say the artist who did it first is the one who copies the artist who just did it for the first time in their career. Saying the bigger, older artist is copying the younger, smaller artist makes no sense as a comparison. I’m comparing a smaller artist doing a sound they’ve never done to a bigger artist who is known for that sound. That’s common sense, which, by definition, is the opposite of crazy. Kind of weird I have to explain this to a hip hop producer of all people, but here we are I guess :/. This sounds exactly like a suicideboys song, which is something Cody has never done before. The beat, the rhyme schemes, the flow, the mix, the vocal effects-this is a suicide boys song straight up. I’m not even saying that’s a bad thing, I’m simply making an observation. Look at the other comments, this is an obvious departure from his normal sound, and if you don’t hear the suicide boys in this then idk what to tell you lol. Maybe you’ve never heard any of Cody’s other stuff before? He’s had a pretty distinct sound for the last 15 years. This is not like anything he’s done before, in any way. Different beat, different rhyme scheme, different everything. This is Cody doing the suicideboys thing, plain and simple. Edit: but on second thought, if wu tang released a song today and it sounded like migos , I’d say the same thing. This sounds very different from his normal sound, and sounds exactly like what suicide boys have made popular again. That old Memphis horror core sound. Your comparison doesn’t make any sense.
@shadowlander_art11 ай бұрын
@@WinedandDined27Sadistik been always a Memphis fan, so maybe he's biting j-green style, like suicide boys did, and when boys made a career on copying style, Cody was busy putting out classics of his own. And BTW you talk to dude who produced his both albums and say "idk if you heard sadistiks music" 😂🤡
@WinedandDined2711 ай бұрын
@@shadowlander_art right… I was being facetious lol. Looks like that one when over your head. Anyways, I’m sure Cody is better versed in old school horrorcore than either of the SB are. That doesn’t mean they aren’t more popular than him, and he’s an adult who needs to make an income. Making the crossover into that style of hip hop that people like these days is a no brainer for him. I’m not accusing him of biting or selling it or anything, I think it would be smart business to make a song or two that could get him on a tour with those guys, because I think he could easily expand his fanbase by doing so. You’ll are trying to white knight dude and making zero sense, both of you. He’s clearly making a business decision by doing this and I don’t blame him. Hope it works for him actually. I’ve been a fan of Cody since The Balancing Act was the only thing he had out. I’ve been to 10 person Kristoff Krane and DJ Abilities shows. I’m no hater, I promise you lol. And while I’m here qualifying myself, I was also born in Memphis lol. The connections run deep here.

@BeeBeeBeeLol11 ай бұрын
I disagree a bit. It's definitely going to be the black sheep of the album no doubt, but that doesn't immediately write it off as a bad song. Father's verse isn't even that bad. It's eons better than Caskey's verse on gasoline, which I would argue is one of sad vicious' weakest songs in the grand scope of his discography. Song's great, it hits all the check marks for me even if it's different from his usual stuff no doubt. heavy beat, killer hook, choppy flow. My only gripe would be Cody's verse wasn't long enough. I hope he spins more heads like this, cause I know you won't be the only one. Catch you in chains like Kakihara's muse.
