I also play solo HG. My point is that some people simply should not play high seas. That is a sad fact but the community as a whole is not a place for many to be. Safer seas provides a profanity free, toxicity free place for my skill deficit family to enjoy the seas. I am going to make an effort to play with them more now

Now anyone who either has max Rep already or doesn't care about Rep can use SS to grind gold at 100% value while any players who have no interest in HS are now locked out of even more content. The reduced gold gain made more sense and Rep caps are pointless, there is and always will be content you can't access without playing HS, why lock people out of content that doesn't require other players if that is their preferred way to play?

I'm very glad they're changing safer seas in that way! I've always preferred single player, especially with the way people used to hijack Tall Tales, but getting less reputation when fulfilling contracts made the game just feel slower.

I'm very happy about the increase in rewards in Safer Seas! However, I think the lowering of the level is a shame. I would like to see Safer Seas without restrictions, so that all players - pvp and pve players - can do what they want. I've had this wish for many years and with Safer Seas at least part of it has been fulfilled ^^

@@SoTxHitreg Did you know that you can steal from skeleton ships or ghost forts? Using your logic safer seas is just as much a pirate game as high seas. Maybe being pirates has nothing to do with why some people enjoy the game. The core gameplay loop and sailing are completely unique, no other game gives quite the same feel. We could just as easily be treasure hunters, it makes no difference. Not everyone wants to deal with other players. I happen to like that I can fish for 30 minutes straight without having to worry about someone sailing up and bombarding me with cannons. You don't have to agree, both player bases could easily exist together and get along if it weren't for people like you who feel threatened by anyone with a different opinion.

It has been discussed so much but the point of the game is that you are forced into situations that you will have to deal with, even scary pvp pirates. If everything gets carried over to safer seas there will only be pvp players on high seas, then they will take that away, just like arena.

Though Hourglass might fade away like Arena, High Seas Adventure mode would not, and it's NOT because people have moved to Safer Seas. It's because as more players play HG less, it ends up involving only Sweat Lords and cheaters. THAT kills a game mode way faster than anything that could be done to Safer Seas.

I agree with this. I play safer seas with my wife, I had all but stopped playing this game before this mode came out. We are around rank 30 in each of the 3 main companies and knowing we won't be able to progress any further soon is dissapointing. The reduced gold was a much fairer trade-off and never seemed to impact us too heavily. I still have no problems buying every cosmetic I want as we complete the commendations to unlock them.

I’ll be honest, I’m not gonna return to the game until it’s in a functional, non-frustrating state. Im tired of ending every session frustrated that I can’t even play the game because it just doesn’t work properly. I appreciate, as do we all, the new transparency and the efforts being put-in going forward, but until we actually start SEEING those changes in-game, I’m out and moved on with my time. 2000+ hours and I’m just done with it all. And I’m not the only one in the community who feels this way either. I wish the best of luck to you folks, you’ve got a STEEP hill to climb.

They have 2 beautiful sails they could give away but no we get a reskin of last years flag and another seadog drum reskin, while cheaters get to use the sails im speaking of with no punishment. In addition to that, the people who use the sails who should give away stuff dont even have to. They can just say no without any reason and thats stupid. Then the obvious part with the obsidian anchor. This was a prestigious item but now its nothing. Please try to defend these points again im shure the multy million € company needs your protection. Everything doesn't make sense because there are things that are designed to have a PVP risk. Emissary wouldn't make sense because why should you get more gold XP for doing nothing special, Reapers are an PVP faction, Fort of the Damned is designed to be a PVP magnet: reapers chests, in the middle of the map, needing all flames especially the pink flame, fort of fortune announce it self with a loud horn that everyone knows its there. Legend of the Veil has a big Tornado that everyone can see. Those are things that came to my mind

I know no dev will see this but I really want to see a live event in sot, sort of like fortnite but og fortnite, when things would always be new and with slow hints of the event to come, something new with some surprise added updates like a new weappon or a limited time ship or something cool that would make it super unique and cool, but nothing broken or changes to the meta

As someone who has never played this game what does the max reputation going from 40 to 25 do gameplay wise? I was considering buying this game just for a fun solo sailing around type of game but i have zero interest in doing PvP so I'm not sure if it would be more worth purchasing with this change or if i should just continue to avoid it.

Nothing really mich, the only change I can think of is that you cant dive to Raids but that isn't that big of a change because you cna still do raids which are active on the server to play

Safer Seas locks you out of some content, though not much. The 40 to 25 also locks you out of some cosmetics and more lucrative voyages, though all base voyages should be possible (unsure if the diving for shipwrecks merchant one was 25 or 30 to unlock). You won't have any endgame content though. It's however perfect for chill achievement (commendation) hunting or practising and learning the PvE stuff. But it's not really intense; after a few dozen sessions the PvE can get pretty onedimensional and almost too easy when clearing. Personally I think safer seas is great for chill solo sessions. I am not much of a PvP person myself but even on high seas you can avoid PvP with some awareness and decent sailing skills without issue (though you might have to run from ships from time to time) and not all players are always hostile. Many mind their own business or even team up or help each other out. Most important thing to reduce hostile interactions is a mic. Talking to players helps a lot of time.
