Nice and "go back in time shape" tent. There's a simple solution to the entrance door zipper and am quite surprised they haven't through about it... I need to start building my own tents!

Love the in depth review Robby. Great to get a slightly different perspective from the hunting and horseback angle!

Good one. And I agree with you, # of men in a tent is always less than what they are rated for. Keep em coming brother!

Thanks for the review! Any idea if this could fit in a packgoat pannier for the 9 person size? Heard of fellas doing it but didn’t know if the bag would be to big or way to figure that out thanks again for the great review ! And what about the stoves they sell with these those break down to packable size for goats? Thanks any info helps

Hey thanks for the watch. As I am not a pack goat user, I can’t accurately answer that question. Give Mansfield Outdoors a call at 425-501-7512, or email tom@mansfieldoutdoors.com. He should know. Thanks.

@@Rokslide would you say the 9 is a overkill for the sometimes single man? Most the time go out solo 2 or 3 full grown guys sometimes more...packable cots..Think Ide be closer to a 7 or 9 in your opinion again using pack stock so many be the extra room would just be nice? Just wondered your two cents staying in that thing alone for a set of days if it was overkill as far as warming and space goes thanks much!

@@joshuajackson8112 If you were only getting it for one guy it would be overkill. But if you’ll be using it with other people, it’s not. In this video review, I stayed alone in that tent for a week.

@@Rokslide have you ever been in a 7 by chance? Wonder how many cots with a stove you could fit in those...what do you think about the footprint the 9 requires..ever seem trouble of a place to pitch? Sorry for all the questions stuck between the 7 and 9. 1-4 guys some times with cots and packabilty..my main concerns
@Rokslide2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuajackson8112 No problems on the questions. If you’re going to be taking four guys at some point you are not gonna be happy with a 7. Yes you can probably all sleep in there but it will be packed if you have any gear at all that needs to come inside. Like I keep saying no, you need to call Mansfield outdoors. They are going to know exactly the best fit for you. Let us know what they said. Good luck Joshua.

Did you have any concern about running the propane stove and the propane heater while you were closed up in the tent at night and in the mornings? Did you have the ventilation opened up? Both the large and small propane bottles off-gas, so I'm wondering how you handled that. Thanks!
@Rokslide5 жыл бұрын
Tracy Bookman Hey thanks for the questions. I always had ventilation when I ran the propane stove. And I never sleep with the propane stove on. That’s what warm sleeping bags are for! Hope that helps

Appreciate the detailed and instructive review bud. Looking at the website it looks like they have different ranges(Safir, Zirkon, Onyx) of Tipi tents. And also make wood fired stoves(with chimney and diffuser), inner/half-inner tents and floor/half-floors for their Tipis. In your view are these necessary or worthwhile for cold weather camping? If i were solo Winter backpacking or perhaps with one companion, which of their Tipi tents would you recommend as well as any essential accessories? Nice work. Look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future. Best regards. Bobby

Thanks for the feedback, yes, Tipi Tents offers lots of options. I was very happy with that Safir I used for the 2017 season. Totally a great fit for cold weather camping, but not backpacking tents. Too heavy for that.

Ugh, where is the floor...
@Rokslide5 жыл бұрын
with mud/snow conditions, floors become a big mess unless you take your boots off every time you enter the tent, which isn't practical.
@more8116 Жыл бұрын
you can buy a floor to it.

@@more8116 A small porch would solve such problem but it's always a compromise usually additional weight and price versus functionality & comfort. Still, Karsten do modular tents which is brilliant but unfortunately all these tents are not for my family as they are simply too dark inside although am sure Karsten would be willing to add additional windows for a fee. I'm also looking at Falcon tents that are also very nice but way too many bits and bobs to misplace or zippers in critical parts that may one day give in. So... still looking for my almost perfect tent.
