This will be a good complement to their Landwanker system.

This system makes a few critical assumptions about incoming targets: (1) Threat detection is based on EM signature. It will not see drones that do not actively transmit on the monitored sections of the EM spectrum. (2) Drone navigation is based on GNSS and does not have an alternative/backup mode such as FPV, inertial, or optical target recognition. This will probably work well in Ukraine today which is dominated by off-the-shelf commercial drones, but I think it'll be defunct as a stand-alone system in just a couple of years because everyone and their grandmother is currently working on defeating spectrum denial and spoofing.

Lol what upsets me is that commenters like you have better foresight and also consider more possible system obsolescence than fucking DEFENSE CONTRACTORS. Like all this Anti-drone shit is so fucking full of shit sometimes I wonder who even is on the design team. Thales/MBDA/RAFAEL: “Durr durr drones jam with super microwave!! Problem sovled!!!”

Drones using visual terrain recognition and targeting will be totally immune to this system. Only kinetic, laser or microwave based systems would be more effective, although drone swarms will be a headache.

I think weapons evolve year or even month per month and some system like this become outdated quickly. The defense system presented seems effective for the current threats, because small drones using terrain recognition are not well developed yet. But for sure, in like 1 year or so we should be prepared to have this new kind of threat and I'm sure they're working on it.

FPV drones used by both sides in ukraine doesn't use gnss, so, looks like this system can only deter commercially of-the-shelf available ones.

I’m convinced this would be very effective. In the context of Ukraine it may work against shahed drones but my impression is that all the drones operating in Ukraine have their autopilots and gps features disabled.

The technology is cool but seeing a drone just fall out of the sky is not as awesome as seeing a laser beam burn the drone out of the sky. The eye wants something too!

About those ruSSian ships going to Cuba. Perhaps someone should start a go fund me account for Ukraine to purchase fishing boats and/or seaplane(s) so Ukraine can sit in waiting for the ruSSian ships to enter/leave Cuba into international waters. I imagine the fishing boats/seaplanes acting like the mother ship for a bunch or rubber boats. Once Ukraine gets word the ruSSian ships are approaching international waters, Ukraine launches a bunch of manned rubber boats (to lower radar footprint) with several of those wonderfully effective Ukrainian sea drones in various strategic places to discreetly sit and wait. When the ruSSian ships are in range, the rubber boats launch the swarms of sea drones and...
