Tom I am a 70 year old with a long playing history. I have watched a jillion golf videos here on KZbin and other places. This is by far the best I have seen. The short back to back videos with the overlay lines is genius. Proof positive that very different swings all result in the same crucial positions and movements.

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Wim, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction! By the way, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. Thanks for your support in sharing your experience! I hope you'll give the school some thought once that new hip is ready for action! Tom

Tom's golf video is the most descriptive on KZbin because it not only offers detailed instructions on key aspects like weight distribution, hand position, and head stability, but also includes a unique feature: an overlay of 114 PGA players. This overlay offers viewers a firsthand look at the consistency and rotational movement of average tour players, providing valuable insight into how these principles are applied at the highest level. By combining clear explanations with visual demonstrations and this innovative overlay, Tom's video offers unparalleled depth and understanding for golfers looking to improve their game. Hey Tom. I watched this video 2 weeks ago. I am a pretty new golfer and a blank canvas and this video sold me to buy your online program. I have played less than 20 rounds of golf in my life (I’m 30) prior to starting your program. My scores in those round were always over 110. Well, I just got back from playing the best 18 holes of my life, I shot a legit 91, counting all my stokes, no mulligans, counting my drops as strokes. A week ago I shot a 108. I am improving at such a rapid pace I am gun-shy to tell people because I don’t think they will believe me. Never in my life would I have guessed I could be playing bogey golf in such a short amount of time. Your online program is actually insane the amount of value and content you provide. You truly are the 🐐 and I am so thankful I stumbled upon this video 2 weeks ago. I can’t wait to continue you learn from you.

Pay attention! This presentation is of extreme importance for amateur golfers. I’m only 11 rounds into the new season, yet thanks to Saguto (and Dan Grieve for short game), I’m now scoring personal bests with nearly every round. While breaking 90 was a struggle last season, breaking 80 has now become a real possibility by the end of this season, since I’m now routinely scoring in the mid 80s.

Great video Tom. I've been trying to play decent golf for over 25 years and never been able to strike the ball consistently. Every lesson I ever took, the instructor tried to make me transfer my weight and swing like a tour pro. I always ended up confused and worse than before the lesson. Thanks to your explanations and breaking down the swings of great ball strikers, I am understanding what I need to do now. You make the golf swing so much more simple than any instructor I've ever listened to. And it works! I'm striking the ball much better now than ever before. Thanks for all you do to help us be better golfers and enjoy the game more!

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Steve, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. Contrary to what others may have sought to convey, in actuality this body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system I teach is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers as shown in this video. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Compare and contrast that with the sad reality that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). Given the success you are experiencing, if you've not already joined have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. @@SagutoGolf no problem, you did an awesome job explaining the essential fundamentals that every great ball striker applies and how to put them into play on our own swings. We’re actually going back to the range tomorrow to work specifically on the fundamentals you explained after we watch the video another 15 times. Thanks Tom. We want to be able to play well for a long time without thinking too much which equals krispy KFC goodness and tons of fun😊Thank you

This is amazing! I played some in high school but haven’t played for about 10+ years. I put in a couple range practice sessions over a few weeks and was slicing everything, chunking balls, thinning, miss hits on the toe. I bought a velvet mat to practice and see visual feed back for my striking to try and fix some issues. My contact area was getting better yesterday but still would have been a toe hit. I found your channel this morning and watched a few videos and this one. Implementing the mental queues and technique with shoulder rotation both directions, head stable, arm straight and weight forward. I hit the mat perfectly centered face and correct contact area. I still mess up some swings but the good swings almost feel natural when they happen. Can’t wait to try some range practice this weekend and maybe a few holes. I’ve been holding off because I didn’t want to just lose all the balls I paid for.

Hi Tom! Realized today how important spine extension is for shoulder "turn" and bringing the left shoulder down to the ball. All of a sudden it feels effortless to use the club in a natural way, release to the front and with the right side bend I feel I swing like Nelly now. :D PS. Thanks for your member videos btw. Big help over time.

Yes - the extension component is critical! It unlocks your body to execute a full turn while preserving the relationship with the ball. Consistently crispy ball striking and effortless power then become the norm. Excellent job figuring that out, and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom

Really interesting! You can see it in all the clips you put together of the pro golfers. One question though - you can see these key parts with irons but what about the driver? We are told that weight should favour the trail side. TIA.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 2 ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Cooper! The weight-forward component also applies to the driver. In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. I am aware that many folks out there believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder/armpit), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws ) For these reasons I do not advocate trying to hit up on the ball, and efforts to do so due to erroneous advice have caused many an amateur significant issues with their driver. Upon learning this swing properly you will be harnessing the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". This is the reason my students and online school members of all age ranges end up bombing it farther than they ever had previously, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Tom, This video is killer. Despite following your advice to the best of my abilities I have not been playing my best. Until this video I really struggled with the tilt concept and head movement. THEN at 12:12 in this video Justin Rose says "Tilt to Turn". Bam! That and your discussion on steady head postion is all I took to the course yesterday. Had not broken 80 in two mos (I'm a 12 Index) Yesterday 79 with a 2 over front side. Won the $$! All day- pre-swing I just said, "Tilt to turn. Steady heady!" I even threw in a slight Nicklaus head turn to initiate and get my nose behind the ball. Thank you --- Great work on this mega video!

Recently watched the one about keeping right hand ( if right handed) angled as for correct impact position and keeping it like that all way back and through the downswing and past impact. I'm very glad to know that this analysis and the instructional details contained therein resonated with you, and I hope they serve your swing well when you put this into practice! I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my KZbin content. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of the school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Fantastic! I'm glad to know that this is performing well for you, Stevo! Here's the thing, though: the weight-forward component does not restrict our body movement; instead, it is one of the key elements that frees our body up to work as it is supposed to without any of those extraneous swing-wrecking (and body-wrecking) actions that are introduced when we try to shift back and forth. Thanks for your message and keep up the great work! 💪💪 Tom

I appreciate that! I'm very glad to know that this analysis and the instructional details contained therein resonated with you, and I hope they serve your swing well when you put this into practice! Yes - every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for most amateurs to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it. In fact, unsolicited feedback confirms that my lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience crispy ball striking and explosive, effortless power. By the way, with regard to that "old guy" thing, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. I hope you'll give the school some thought. Thanks for your message! Tom

Another fantastic video from you the man Tom Saguto. I really love everything about stack and tilt except that you have to put your weight on your left side though out the swing. I'm 62 overweight and have a left knee that's bone on bone. I'm probably going to get a replacement later this year. I just got an injection and it may last a couple of months but it hurts when I put pressure on it. I have had to try other way's of swinging to keep my knee from buckling along with the pain. It is such a bummer because I have never had the great swing that I had working with you for the few years I did. Any suggestions or am I screwed until I can get the knee replaced? I still watch everyone of your video's and I really appreciate all your great instruction it is awesome. I recommend to everyone who ask about swing methods to look up and join Sagutogolf right away.

I'm glad you enjoyed this analysis, Craig, and I hope some of the key takeaways are helpful to you! Until you get that knee figured out, I would just focused on staying as centered as you can while still allowing your body to be engaged in the motion as much as you comfortably can. One suggestion might be to set up with a somewhat straightened trail leg to get your hips inclined and partially rotated. Then just swing your shoulders on their tilted angle while keeping your head in place. Steve Elkington preset his hips and straightened his trail leg in his setup when he was learning S&T...and he even played tour events doing that. So perhaps you could make something like that work on a temporary basis until your lead knee is repaired and ready for action. I hope that helps! Tom

Great video! A lot of hard work and analysis went into this one. I am trying to incorporate this into a “hit it with my right hand” swing thought, as my right side is totally dominant……

Thanks! I'm very glad to know that this analysis and the instructional details contained therein resonated with you, and I hope they serve your swing well when you put this into practice! This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of great ball striking, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everything in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world. Indeed, I give all credit where it is due - including Andy and Mike for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching. I just do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified teaching style (which is fully on display in the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school - saguto.golf ). Tom PS: If interested, here is an episode from a few years ago documenting my week at S&T Instructor Camp with Andy in Miami: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2rUlYOFr76Ijbc

This is such a helpful video. I like the breakdown. It gives me different check marks I should be hitting can’t wait to try it. In a pretty strong guy but keep getting outdriven by older, smaller guys. That was the first sign my approach needed work and it wasn’t all muscle.

You are correct - it is not about brute strength. The proper accumulation and sequential unloading of the power levers will do far more for distance than a 20" biceps!! 😎 Tom PS: By the way, have you worked through my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker" yet? go.saguto.golf/ This is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this swing system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

I'm very glad to learn of your improvement, Dylan - well done!! 💪💪 If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. The Precision Impact that I demonstrated in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4LPXneFbJ6ogM2ds - is an excellent training aid that will help you to quiet your hands and overcome this issue. I highly recommend it. If interested you can get your Precision Impact Trainer here - pureswingproducts.com/SagutoGolf (use code CRISPYKFC for $20 Off and Free Shipping) Beyond that, if you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thanks again for sharing your progress and keep up the great work!! Tom
