I stayed on this street for two days after staying in the costal city of Vung Tau just south of HCMC for a month. HoChiMinh City was beautiful and I will definitely go back someday.

Thank you for this video. I thought Bui Vien looked kind of slow tonight; I was there for the first time about six years ago. My VN wife and I live north of Ha Noi, visited Sai Gon a couple years ago and will be back in a couple weeks. Many of the foot massage businesses are actually brothels. Since prostitution is illegal, many brothels advertise foot massage. Once again, thank you for your video.

Quite a throwback to memories. Such a familiar place, but a lot has also changed, and not for the better. I was at Bui Vien for the first time at the end of 2010, when I was there for the new year 2010-2011. Back then, Bui Vien was still a very peaceful street, but I saw a change over the years as it became unpleasant. In the beginning, you could even spend the night on that street, but not for many years now. The last time I was there in the fall of 2016, I was nearby, but I didn't even consider that street as a place to spend the night. Those side streets are still quite nice and Bui Vien used to be like that too.

This may sound silly but I Love the way the traffic mingles with each other. Everyone is aware of their fellow motor friends and somehow manage to avoid numerous, potential, accidents.

Thanks for sharing your walk. I just moved to Saigon and went there for the first time last night. I guess because you are filming you weren't approached as much. The poor begging children breaks your heart. I was stopped by many beautiful ladies wanting about $50 for a good time. I wish I had time to explore the side streets... next trip 😊

Nice video. Crazy night life. Seems like it's okay to call it Saigon.

You mentioned about the pick pocketing and phone snatching but that rarely happens, at least from what I can see. Every major city has its own problems but I can tell you that pick pocketing is the worse problem that could happen to you. Ho Chi Minh City is much much safer than most major cities in the USA

Was also soll das? -- Das beste an dem Video ist seine Authentizität. DAS findet meinen Respekt; GUT GEMACHT !!

Everybody got motorcycles over there, are there any Ebikes .
@Paul-in-Viet-Nam4 ай бұрын
Yes, many; they're quite dangerous. When driving down the road, if a person wants to turn, the driver has to be especially careful because ebikes are silent and may try to pass on the side to which the other vehicle is intending to turn. I've had a few experiences like that.

Definitely not crazy.. quite sad to see this place so ghastly. Those hosts who try to beg you into the bars are hugely off putting and must be doing the establishment a disservice more than anything.
@Paul-in-Viet-Nam4 ай бұрын
They're like the old-time carnival barkers and actually drive a lot of pedestrians into their establishments, more than enough to cover their wages.
