Congratulations on splashing in the big pond! Drove down from NH last Labor Day and launched from Branford, CT. We sailed to Port Jeff on LI. Planning on launching there again this summer. I heard the Thimble Islands are really nice. I will let you know when we are going down that way. I would love to sail with other Mac owners.......

That’s awesome! I really wanted to go check out the islands too, but my buddy had to work that morning and by the time we got there it wouldn’t have been enough time to get to where we needed to go afterwards. Then the next day went to crap on top of it. We are going to have her on the water full time on the Hudson rive next year in Kingston, definitely come sail with us!!

Morris Cove is a great stop over for anyone cruising LI Sound. Loved that you looked at and showed the wind forecast. Any Captain worth his salt needs to know the winds. Thanks for the post. SV Mercy, Norwalk

Boat looks good. In your earlier videos you had your lifelines connected to the Pulpit. Now they go down to the deck in the front. What was the reason for the change?
@SailingFreeStyle5 жыл бұрын
They are still on the pulpit just lower. Reason is so the jib has a little more clearance over them.

Havent watched one of your videos in awhile. It's absolutely AMAZING how clean that boat looks. From the sails to the deck to the clean solar panel install, the grill on the back, etc. Great video and congrats on the sail in the salt. On lower wind days, try loosening the halyard on the main and jib just a smidge. Can help to get you a few tenths of SOG by allowing the wind to fill the sails a bit more. If the wind picks back up, tighten em' back up! Good work. PS. When was this sail? Last fall?
@SailingFreeStyle5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Good tips! I have been fooling around the with outhaul tension in calmer conditions and that seems to help too, I will try the halyard tip this coming season! And to answer your question, yes this was last September. There will be a few more episodes coming from last season too. One me and the family get out together that same week I think, then the last sail of the season was on halloween.

Hey Man thank you for taking all this time to edit these vids... I'm watching them one by one with gluttony because this coming Saturday if all goes well I should become the owner of the very same Mac 25.. can't wait... i feel like a kid waiting for Santa... thanks again... keep up the great work

Hi, did you need a license to pilot that boat? Maybe volume down the music, it's cool to hear sailing noises. Good job.
@symphonyfarm20095 жыл бұрын
Ryan I love you dearly..... the go pro on the head footage is nauseating. Sailing is an art. Sailing and filming is ..... well I have neve done it. So it sound stupidly hard! Maybe a little tripod for the go pro?
@SailingFreeStyle5 жыл бұрын
Symphony Farm stupid hard is an understatement. Slapping the camera on my head makes it easy for me to concentrate on the boat. If I mount it somewhere Else then there’s only one angle to try and make a short movie out of. Once I’m more comfortable (or have more cameras) I’ll be able to mess with different shots more.

Bro, when motoring out, set your head sail. Take advantage of it right away. Why r u sailing without your headsail. Put that up first. AGAIN! The sound is not the ocean.
@mikejmardis3 жыл бұрын
You’re not doing it. You are in the sound. There may be some good learning areas, but you aren’t near them.
