I'm from Belgium and went to Lake Garda in Italy last 2 weeks. Sam Holmes' videos were the first ones that i have ever watched about sailing, as a fisherman and nature enthausiastic I immeditaltly fell in love. I took my lessons on a 6meter Sonar boat and it went pretty well! I also did a bit of windsurfing but thinking about getting some lasor lessons to really get the hang of the wind and the sails. What do you guys recon?

Ventspils isn't a tourist resort but a real community that values its artists. That was a cool tour on land and by sea! Can't wait to hear the catching up vids re the Tracker. 🙂

For the autopilot, try wrapping it in 'clingfilm'... couple of wraps keeps the water out but you can still see the display and use the buttons :)

Thanks for sharing your sailing adventures with us! As a parent with 3 young children, your KZbin channel is the best way for me to 'travel'. Today I took my youngest child and the puppy out on our 13' runabout. We had the throttle immediately get stuck full-open which required returning to the beach for repairs. (teleflex cable popped out of throttle arm in outboard) Puppy continuously barked at his reflection in the water. 4 year old son had the helm a good bit of the time so we made a LOT of circles. Older fellow with an English accent at boat ramp said I was rather ambitious for taking a small child and a dog out in the boat on my own. I had a medium frustration level running at the end of the outing, but my son told his mom it was 'the best boat ride ever!' That made me feel a lot better afterwards. Next few days I'm going to go work on my sailboat and get her a bit more ship-shape. Get her ready to again start making some of my own sailing adventures. Will try and post something on KZbin.

Well sam, your videos have inspired me to learn how to sail. I picked up a free 11" sailing dingy that was smashed by a tree. I did all the fiberglass repairs and float tested it yesterday with a trolling motor in a nearby river. Now all I need is a boat trailer to take it to a local lake to practice sailing.

Sam Hope I can help you with your stove. The yellow flame is from a bad propane to air mixture making that weak yellow flame heat the stove frame and melting the knob( not enough air in the mix for a strong blue flame to exit the frame and heat your pots) . Sam you need to check the burner where the air mixture is located and clean any spider webs,soot,old food matter ect........ (also check both sides of your burner i would bet the problem is at the air mix side). Good luck ! I enjoy your content. V from Appalachian Propane Ellijay Geargia U.S.A.
@samholmessailing
@samholmessailing 2 жыл бұрын
Its an alcoholic stove not propane
@vincentdsnt
@vincentdsnt 2 жыл бұрын
Hummm......Well a lazy yellow flame is caused by lack of oxygen or you need a better methylated spirit to burn, in any case that lazy flame is melting you down. Hope this helps in some way and good luck with it Sam ! Sail safe and we enjoy your content. Oh if it is a pressurized stove in anyway it still could be an air mixture problem. What is the brand and model ? I'll do some googling for you.

Hey, nice that you want to visit Bornholm, I happen to live there. It is indeed a Danish island, but it also has been Swedish at some point. If you have time, visit the little islands called Cristiansø/Frederiksø, as they are close to Bornholm, and the most eastern islands of Danmark. Great sailing!
