In this episode we cross the border, sailing our boat from San Diego, California to Mexico to start our new cruising adventure!
Peter and Tom are gay sailors who learned to sail relatively recently in the San Francisco Bay, before casting off the lines to cruise Mexico and sail around the world!

69 year old from L.A. I went on the Star Of India when I was SIX years old !! A 'Must See' if in San Diego ! My nephew has a 42 ft sailboat in San Diego. And, at 2:30, I was stationed in those hangars in 1974 ! Behind you to the right. North Island Naval Air Station. GO NAVY !!

What an exciting voyage! I don’t think I could sleep either! I I understand this is a common problem amongst sailors? You’re making sure everything is going right with everything too if you have a long passage I would think? $2 wine?!!! Whaaaat?!!!! Can that be good? Lol . Back in 2010 we sailed from SD to Ensenada and then San Martin. On the way down we caught two blue sharks and a plastic bag.

Děkuji za další epizodu. Koukala jsem na ni z mobilu a teď i na PC, dala jsem si to na TV - abych měla větší obrazovku a tím pádem i větší požitek ze sledování. Velký obdiv u mě máte, jak dokážete plout v noci a skoro nespat, to bych asi chcípla :-), ale pak si přes den můžete zase odpočinout a nemusíte do práce. Tak to vám závidím. Přeji příjemnou plavbu a už se těším na Mexico. Pa a pusu....

Hey. What was the point of the CBP 1300 form to “legally check out” Is that something US citizens need to do before sailing to Mexico?

It's the closest thing to a Zarpe that the US issues. I don't think citizens need it but it's sometimes good to have if the customs official in the country you are going to is expecting a Zarpe.

Yes sadly were in the clock for our temporary resident visa. After checking in in Ensenada we had about two weeks to get to La Paz to complete the process

No need to sail overnight from SD to Ensenada... just leave SD very early. (In 2013 we sailed overnight... learned it simply wasn't necessary.)

it turned out to be that its very depending on who you get on the counter that day!! the first person who said NO to us ( was obviously having bad day) and the 2 nd person who we saw there when we came back processed it with no questions or problems! Welcome to Mexico!!
