Sailing Jibsea

Күн бұрын

After sitting tight in an anchorage waiting out high winds, we finally move our sailing monohull over to another bay in St Martin, on the French side of The Caribbean island. We sail to where the party's at over in Tintamarre, a popular remote island amongst day tours and charter boats in St Martin. We do some exploring and have fun on the beach before attempting to sail to anchor (without using our engine) over in Grand Case. Once in Grand Case, we do some exploring, hiking and enjoy the beautiful underwater marine life.

Aussie scientists are asking people to stop building rock piles, or cairns. They are getting out of hand down here, as people are building them in river beds. They cause weird erosion patterns and prevent the wildlife, weeds and crustations from forming. And they don't look natural. So I'm hoping by putting a comment here I'll do my bit to pass on their message. Love your work, by the way. I'm subscribed and I'm binge watching.

Those fishing lights are great. They attract plankton and other small aquatic creatures which in turn brings in the baitfish. Left on long enough and the big fish come in. We use them a lot for night time crappie fishing.

I was wandering how cool it is how sail ships of old let the wind just push them from behind. But more into the wind you are pulled forward which might be cool to explain with sail drawings and airplane lift idea explained. I don't know I love stuff like that. The gulls and sail boats and plainez all sharing the same Bernalillo principal..

Underwater footage is stellar on this one Steph. As always great editing and story telling. Travis had the recent high and tight hair on this one so you must have taken the trimmer after him..lol. I say this assuming a Steph role i don’t think we have seen yet is that of barber…

I love your Atlantic Cider you planted Travis & Steph well done. So your still sailing around the cape in your old boat. Didn’t I hear you say you were upgrading to a newer larger yacht? You know what I have always noticed/admired about you guys is that you do run a tight ship. You keep your boat like in the good old days. Yikes sounds scary, 😰you know what I mean.😎 Speaking of tidy, what’s your fitness routine or your just born with good genetics.😂 And nice to see Travis finally carrying Steph over the threshold.🤙 When are you going to sail down under 🇦🇺 because the Whitsundays are made for sailing!

We didn’t plant it, someone else did, but we wanted to just see if it was there. We decided against selling our boat at the moment (we have a video about that 🙂) We love to keep things tidy and one day! We hope we’d make it to Australia 😆

Always like watching your videos. But planting a pine tree , is potentially placing an invasive species that could take over the native vegetations.

Please don't go around planting things on foreign islands. Invasive species can wreak all kinds of trouble. It's a serious problem not to be taken lightly. Please, by all means, go out there and enjoy yourselves, but also practice leave no trace, aight?
