I am up in Port Townsend doing a refit, and prior to going sailing full time, I was a heavy haul trucker, I've moved loads up to 195' bumper to bumper and 250,000 lbs. So I have seen a few things. When it comes time to move her back out if you want some help ensuring the truck can get in and out I will be more than happy to lend a hand. Also I will likely be back in the water before you guys are, so while up in the PNW if you would like to get some sailing in, I would be more than happy to take you! I also have a small CNC router that is good for making things like electrical panels, nameplates, router jigs, drilling jigs and so on. (16"x16" capacity) If you think of anything you need, don't hesitate to ask! Seeing what I fine boat Magic Carpet is, I will be looking forward to seeing what you two do with the Cape George.

That's quite a story. How special to be able to have friends like Miguel, his family, and Dell. To be able to honor Miguel's legacy by continuing the journey he inspired got me choked up. I stumbled on your channel with the episode of Staussburg as my intro. After watching what seems like nearly all YT sailing channels for a few years I was very impressed. C'mon, a boatbuilder and musician, in love, having an impromptu jazz session with locals in the cockpit of their beautiful boat while tied to the dock in Straussburg? Seems like a novel. The quality of your editing is wonderful. Congrats on the Cape George. I'm living on a Pacific Seacraft 37' down in San Diego and take off cruising for an unknown number of years after hurricane season ends this fall. This is after flying hot-air balloons professionally for 28 years, two years that were spent flying all over Die Schweiz. I blame the boat and future cruising all on YT sailing channels. I look forward to watching you two transform that lovely boat and hope to see you out there some day. TvZ

We bought an old 1974 Victory 40 Ketch called Bora Bora, last year. We love our old girl and live aboard. She is so solid and safe feeling for blue water cruising, compared to more modern boats, plus you have the character and charm of an older boat. We also have quite a bit of renovation to do, though fortunately, nothing major so decided to get out there and do bits as we go. We will be thinking of you when we are varnishing! We are not a fast boat, but tbh I would rather feel solid and safe than be in a hurry to get somewhere. Good luck with the refurb of your fabulous boat! See you out there! ❤️❤️

I'm so excited for you guys! And I am also very excited for me because I remember looking at that CG online during the search for my latest boat, wistfully thinking how much I would love to restore her, and now I will be lucky enough to live that dream vicariously through you. Small world. I can't think of two better people to take on her stewardship. She is such a lovely and worthwhile vessel and I know you will both do her justice. I have to add that I feel a kindred spirit to Aladino. As a lifelong sailor and someone who has restored a 1961 Little Harbor 36, a 1976 Westsail 43, and now a 1990 Pacific Seacraft Dana 24 (not to mention old houses, campers and cars), I too, love to geek out on classic boats and their restoration. And, I too, can never get enough. Mya, IMHO, your storytelling and artistry that truly captures the romance of boats is the best of all the sailing KZbinrs out there. So, thank you both! Here is a short video I think you will enjoy that a friend shot of me sailing my Westsail on a typical day in San Francisco Bay. Man, I loved that boat! All the best on the new adventure! Congratulations! Much as I loved Magic Carpet, I always knew that you would need a larger boat to go offshore. The Cape George 36 looks right. And Aladin will make it special. Very happy for you both.

She is a stunning boat with classic elegant lines. I looked up her specs and her sea-kindly ratios, hull shape and entry are quite good. Thank you for sharing your story with us

I am so happy for you two , I have been with you since you got the free boat in Squamish and watched you grow and evolve into who you are today . You have taken me to places that I would never have had the opportunity to see and I thank you so very much for that . I wish you all well and I will keep watching for the new adventures that the new boat will take you to.

Wow, I was moved by this. Especially, the part on Miguel. Thanks for that. As a Dutch Vindo32 owner, I could really relate to your videos lately. But I did already before and will in future, looking forward to your endeavors yet to come.
