I'm watching this aboard my own boat where I have spent an entire day fitting a new manual bilge diaphragm. A so called 10 minute job. My knuckles will recover in a week and I invented multiple new curse words. I admire the patience and professionalism you display. I'm simply a bodge merchant! Best boat channel on utube.

Generator fuel tank under the generator location? Low and central. Oops. Too late. Mads, your calm ability to uncover and resolve problems, often monumental problems, is now web legend. Rather than getting angry, you get focused on a solution. Your sense of humor is epic. Bravo! Camera suggestion: Blimp your camera with a large baggie with a tight-fitting hole cut for the lens. That will limit dust penetration and you can always replace the bag now and then. Operation through the bag should be easy.

Nice cleats. Having big meaty cleats is very handy especially when prepping for a big storm like we are doing here on the US East Coast eight now. It's nice to run extra lines for storms but cleats fill up REALLY fast. If I were to do things again I'd put in two sets of midship cleats, a couple feet apart. It is nice to be able to spring both forward and aft from midships and sometimes leading a line around a piling and back to the same cleat is handy. But four lines on one cleat piles up. We don't use lines with eyes, but a bowline loop is handy on one end. Even your little center hole in those cleats would allow a bowline to be tied onto the cleat through the middle to save space. Remember to put your fairleads as close as possible to the cleat so line stretch will produce minimum movement and minimum chafe. The further the fairlead is from the cleat the more the line will move over it. I can't wait to watch you build your toe boards. That should be fun. Integrating fairleads into or around them should be interesting.

Thank you Mads for another enjoyable Sunday. The quality of the video was fine considering the failure of the main camera. Any video of yours would be fine even if it was a still picture montage with voice over. Athena is becoming a beautiful home. As mentioned below, add isolation to the generator supports to reduce vibration, you'll be very glad that you did. Take care and stay well.

Fantastic videos Mads, amazing shop, amazing attention to details. I only have one comment, I often see you in your videos not using a mask when you work with epoxy. I worked with epoxy on boats for years without a mask and now am sensitized to it and cannot work with it. Even with a 3M charcoal mask after a few minutes my lungs close up. Epoxy fumes are as dangerous an most paint fumes so please be careful.

@ericseidel49404 жыл бұрын
Hi nice boat finally revealed ! a lot of work is coming to fruition. I still not understand the purpose of a diesel generator, by the time some people are removing their MAIN engine for a electric one (that is also a generator when sailing ). Even not going to this extreme, using some solar, windmill and especially water generator can give you plenty of power, be much simple and way less noisy.

First, I left a like... Second I feel free to leave a comment down below ;-) The good thing about your GH5 dying is the chance to switch to a full frame camera. The Nikon Z system is a very good choice but Sony and Canon have good options too. Even if you want to stick to Panasonic they now have a full frame option. If you don't switch now, you'll never witch!

The new Sony A7Siii is probably the best video camera in a small body ever made. At least the unanimous KZbin authorities agree on that, and they seldom agree on anything. Pricey? Um, yeah.
