I'd say the newer one looks nicer when it's not moving. Like it looks better as a screenshot. But at least with these scenes the original is way more expressive and allows itself to move around a lot. Whereas Crystal's animation looks stilted.

The thing about the animation in Crystal s1 and 2 is that the design was not fit for fluid movement. Basing the designs after the manga might have looked like a magnificent idea, but I don’t think they thought about fluidity. The designs look beautiful but animating them is seriously hard because how detailed they are so I give props to the animators for doing their best. S3 fixed this by changing the designs so they could be more fluid and expressive. Which again, I give props because Infinity was AMAZING

I know she only wants what's best for Usagi in the future and wants her to do well but if I were Usagi, I would've stood up to her Earth family, telling her Mom that I hate her for her hard treatment, that I wish she wasn't my mother and that brat Shingo, that I didn't have a brother. Crystal animation does not work for comedy moments . Like 1:14 She winks? why did they choose that face expression ? she does not even look angry And the 90s knee to the door OUCH .. that actually looks painfull. What makes the Crystal art style so weird for me is that Bunny looks way too old for just being in 8th grade. Well, not always but often, especially in close-up shots (Yes, in the German release of the 90s anime, Usagi is called Bunny. In Crystal, she is named Usagi again but I'll always call her Bunny)
