Sailor Moon R This is the scene where Chibi-Usa/Rini recalls memories of her parents. I don't own nothing.

Wow... I really like the japanese version better. It's just... more wholesome. Teaching her daughter to be independent. To be a strong woman. THAT'S what the author intended. For a lot of what the 90s anime got wrong. This touched on the true theme of Sailor Moon that being feminine in itself is a strength. That being feminine or even masculine is to stand up by yourself, because you know there is love behind you. The english one is more of a parent preaching sort of explanation.
@Argocity20062 жыл бұрын
It kinda goes both ways I think the USA version was more of lecture then preaching. But the Japanese explains more and makes sense. I love both but the Japanese one always tugs at me. In a way, we fall down and sometimes we get help up from friends,but in the end we have to get up on our own .

And there will come a time when she'll have to learn to pick herself up without always having to rely on someone else to do it for her every time. If there was nobody around to help her, how would she learn to do anything else by herself?

i think this is one of the few times i prefer the english version to the japanese. Neo-Queen Serenity's voice had a much more mature/older tone and the way she explained the flashback in english made more sense.

I love both neo queen serenity/Serena voice. What I noticed is the Japanese version her real voice is at 0:22 and the one she uses to explain with is younger because it's coming from her younger self mouth. The dub kept her queen voice through the whole thing. I love the dub reasoning more than the Japanese one.

In th Japanese Neo Queen Serenity's voice is still teenage Usagi. She doesn't sound more mature at all and it doesn;t really go. At least in the English dub they made her sound like an adult

She sounded way better in the sub. She still seemed calm and composed and her voice was soothing to hear. I mean in the dub version, she sounded older but she still has a valley accent which doesnt really seem fit for a queen, let alone be considered mature Dub was trash. Sub was excellent

Wait... that’s why she became evil? Because her parents didn’t pick her up the one time when she fell when she was doing something she was told not to do? Because her parents wanted to teach their kid to pick herself up and not cry when she’s really not hurt? My goodness

Y'all... Stop saying they didn't make Neo Queen Serenity's voice more mature in the japanese version because that's not true. The Neo Queen Serenity that is talking to ChibiUsa is 14 years old Usagi possessed by Neo Queen Serenity, not 30th century frozen-21-year-old Neo Queen Serenity. At 0:22 you can hear future Neo Queen Serenity's actual voice. Also I'm sorry americans, but as a non-american that didn't grow up to the American English dub, I think it sucks tbh.

Late answer but it doesn't sound more mature because the Neo Queen Serenity that is explaining it to ChibiUsa is the present 14 years old Usagi, not her actual future self. Notice how in 0:22 we can hear future Neo Queen Serenity's actual voice.

I like the Japanese version much better than English Dub. In the Japanese version, Usagi as Neo-Queen Serenity does not dare to say to ChibiUsa that she wasn't hurt. ChibiUsa was hurt after she slipped in the rain. But she wasn't seriously injured. I'll admit that children who slip in the rain easily feel hurt and it's because they are very sensitive than adults. But in this scene, it just seems too soon for the parents to tell their kid to try to get up on her own. I understand that they wanted her to learn to become stronger person. But if ChibiUsa had her leg broken, then they mustn't tell her to get up on her own because that would be direct child abuse.
@jessicaking57243 жыл бұрын
I get what you mean but I sure if she had actually got hurt they would've rush to help her, chibiusa/rini in the 90s anime was 7 or 8 despite how she looked so it not too early to start teaching her lessons. So I don't think that's child abuse.

...except that coffee isn't a person and racism applies to people. Identifying a person by a color is racist and when the word "black" is used to equate "bad" it is extremely insensitive in light of the western world's oppression of black people.
