Now that was lovely ad retro style with a modern twist with no politics though still LOVE your WW2 ad from years ago which reduces me to a weeping mess of a man lol! I had a mate who made a product for you, and at last knockings you offered him half the price than what you originally agreed. Of course, he should have read the small print better and you had him over a barrel, but to make out you have better values than other supermarkets is laughable, you sent the man broke. I'd trust Tesco more for values than you shisters.

I'm an American who's never been to a Sainsbury's store in my life, but I loved\ this ad so much! The BFG was my fourth/fifth grade teacher's (who, funnily enough, was named Mrs. Big) favorite book. She read it aloud to her class at the beginning of every school year, and would turn the animated BFG movie from 1989 on as a treat whenever we all behaved or did very well on a class quiz. I don't know if she's still around today, but this ad brought back good memories of elementary school and the delicious homemade dinners my family had almost every year (either that or Thai take-out, but that was still just as nostalgic).
