6:15 As a person that still learns how to draw good lineart by myself feels so relief knowing the fact that this method is actually legit and dispel my doubt in my own lineart drawing method.
The most important thing I do for lines is to warm up with blind contour sketches. This follows the advice of the Impressionist artist John Singer Sargent: "always draw the longest line you can remember". Beginning artists only know how to make the lines used for writing, which are not the same as lines used in drawing. When drawing with blind contour, each time you draw a different subject, you must draw very long lines that you are unfamiliar with. Developing ability with blind contour means that you learn the motions to make many kinds of lines and to sketch anything you see quickly. Making the final line polished involves decisions around the tools and art style, but if the sketch is good, any strategy can be used.

OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I don’t even know how to express my personal gratitude to you. I've been drawing for 12 years now, but I'm self-taught. I couldn’t find a teacher anywhere who could, without further ado, briefly and clearly explain to me what NOT to do and how to DO it. I watched 5 of your videos and my skill increased 20 times! Thank you very much!!!

Thank you for the subtitles in different languages Naoki-san!! 😁
i like this channel it reminds me of watching an interactive and helpful children's show, warm feelings

I saw several times my friend doing the first method, he put his cellphone under the paper then did tracing, like an animator drawing a scene, in my mind I was like "dude, you did tracing??" then as if he read my mind he then said like a wise man, that what he did was for practice and there was nothing wrong with it, it's not a sin, unless you admit it is your original work or sell it. At that time I thought he was right, some time later I saw him drawing in almost the same style but with some differences
As a starting artist, I often find myself unable to learn other things because my arm won't put the lines where I want them to. Like when I'm trying to draw a head, the circle used in the Loomis method comes out too misshapen which gives the head weird proportions. Or I'm unable to study how to make things look more 3d because I can't make the contour lines well... Follow the contours But saito naoki always has a video for whenever I hit a road bump in my art journey

Lol i also do this. Especially when I'm too lazy to make thicker layer of lineart 😂😂
People that don't do sets in the fitness don't gain muscle, why would a person that doesn't want to do sets with lines be good at drawing lines? There is a brutal method for getting accurate lines and its to fill many pages with long lines in the same direction. This task teaches your hand accuracy for when you need longer clean lines.
