Bruh I know I used to get 200$ every 2 weeks trying to go to college living in my car back in the day and rich people being like “you people are just lazy” like wtf. I’m just trying to myself through college, my mom will never retire, my dad owes half a million in medical debt from a car running him over. Leave us be, this is generations of poverty and we are doing our best 😭. Things are much better for all of us now about 10 years later but people don’t realize how much that paycheck make a difference damn. My husband is from a rich family and he learned a lot from seeing how I lived and there is like a total disconnect to prevent guilt essentially. He thought he was middle class. His family had a courtyard and hired help and he asked to come over to my house once where I slept on the floor in the garage because I gave my uncle my mattress since he had a hard labour job 😅 it was a little eye opening for him.

So here's the thing. There's like NO reason that the Fed would want to hide inflation rates, afaik. We obv want to lower inflation but if the Fed was manipulating shit to make it seem lower trust me it'd be big news, at least in economic circles. Like I said, they want to keep inflation low, but they're separate from politics so they're not gonna get like fired or whatever for inflation being high (they serve one nonrenewable fourteen year term) so they're not looking to make themselves look better at their job than they actually are or any other reason you'd hide real inflation rates

19:52 I think the funniest thing about this is he’s saying 7 people out of the 700 in his school would be in the 1%. He might be using it for scale but somethings telling me he genuinely doesn’t understand that the 1% they’re talking about is of the whole population, not of a bunch of different subsections. It’s possible and likely that 0 of those 700 students will ever make a million dollars. Rich people are truly delusional about money and class inequalities. My parents were relatively poor and now they’re a little below comfortable, I don’t stand a chance. I live paycheck to paycheck to make rent knowing as soon as I’m done with college, having graduated or not, I have a huge bill waiting for me that I can’t afford.

I remember my dad it was like not having enough food in the fridge. You could either split it up so everyone could be a bit hungry, or feed a few people full and some more hungry and just one or two with so much food that they waste some. I asked why anyone would want to do that. He said because they don’t see it as a waste in themselves. I said what if they don’t use it all? He said they don’t care they just don’t want others to have it because they want the most. That’s basically how my dad explained rich people to me well enough and why even though we were broke as a joke we gave to folks in need. It didn’t matter we didn’t have very much we had more than some people out there and as I’ve lived longer he was surely right. My dad was always good at breaking those things down to me as a kid. As asked: thanks, Danny! You’re a real one. Congrats on 100k, Saji, you deserve it! Take of yourself and keep making what you want. My insightful commentary on the video: God, I hate capitalism and the people who pretend to be capitalists. Because these assholes probably aren’t capitalists, they’re the managerial class. There aren’t really that many capitalists since only so many people can own factories and the like as the share of money becomes smaller and smaller, but there are plenty of losers who have sold their souls for wealth.

@tessn11142 жыл бұрын
10:41 yes, the FED can indirectly manipulate inflation like changing interest rates. I think he is trying to say CPI not P/E ratio. Because price is part of P/E ratio. Its in the name, price to earnings ratio. Consumer price index is what he's talking about. The purchasing power of the consumer is going down. Edit: these guys are just repeating talking points they've heard their dads say and that's why they can't properly talk about anything 12:04 these guys clearly support a bullish way of investing which is not for everyone (actually not for most people). Having very risky investments is just that, risky. There are other ways to to invest without having to risk everything. You don't need to make investments that have a 10% chance of doubling your initial investment when there is a 90% chance it tanks and you lose your investment. Leave that type of aggressive trading to mutual funds and brokers please. Don't give this advice to everyday people because professionals get it wrong. 30:04 Simon chewed them up ahahahhaha

If these rich people want to change the world; invest in agricultural solutions and clean water in impoverished countries, invest in community housing programs for the homeless, invest in communal gardens to provide for communities living below the poverty line and lunch programs for poorer kids, or petition to change the minimum wage for underpaid workers and use your wealth and influence to bolster positive changes for the world. But, at the end of the day, they don't really care because they're living comfortably and don't have to worry about whether they'll be able to cover rent or eat day to day. 🙄
