I have 2 6" Saker Mini saws. Along with several Husquvarna chainsaws. Great additition to any arborists toolkit. Just for interest I recently cut a 12" diameter log. It took a while but it did the job. Just wanted to stretch the capability. I wouldn't do it again, use the right tools for the job!!. I also bought a Stihl GTA26 (more than twice the price of the Saker and no better). At the price, my arborist business could buy a few of these every year. Let's see how my pair survive some heavy use and I will report back. For interest I generally use Husquvarna petrol saws from 16" to 24"

The key to good use of these saws is keeping the chain well oiled which is a bit of a pain because unlike most chainsaws they don't have a chain lube system. I bought a oil dispenser and use Stihl chain oil but you have to lubricate chain a lot.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening10 ай бұрын
@@richardwathen7627 I do try and remind people to get plenty of oil on the chain, but you can get carried away.

I have the saker 42" chainsaw and it is great. Do you know if Saker produce a hedge trimmer or garden strimmer that uses the same battery?

Great video! Can you use WD-40 instead of vegetable oil? Or actual chain oil?
@terrykingsallotmentgardening5 ай бұрын
That's a difficult one to answer, personally no, but I do use WD40 to protect my hedge cutter during the winter, but it doesn't have any lubricating properties. Stick to the correct chain oil if used regularly.

Thank you for your review. Do you have to keep the round button pushed down while you're pulling on the trigger? Or is round button simply to start or the power button? Thank you.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening11 ай бұрын
The round button is a safety feature so you don't accidentally press the trigger so yes it has to be pressed with the trigger to engage the motor, the round button can be let go while the trigger is engaged and it will still run. Happy Logging, Terry.

Why does my sakr saw stop running when I am trimming some small bushes back
@terrykingsallotmentgardeningАй бұрын
@adeleeldridge2793 the saw does need larger branches, the small bushes will clog up the chain and bar, the saw has a built in safety cut off to ensure no damage is done to the motor. Hope this helps, even when cutting larger branches we have to let the saw do the work not us rushing.

I love these little chainsaw and I'm perfectly comfortable using them. Our big chain saw scares me a bit so these little ones are ideal.

Great informative demo. I used it for about 10 minutes ( not continuously) and it kept cutting out. Also smelt a bit. Followed instructions to the T, any advice greatfully received. TIA
@terrykingsallotmentgardening9 ай бұрын
They are only for occasional use, but you shouldn't be having those issues, check the chain isn't to tight, remove battery and pull the chain down, you need enough slack so the chain stays on 3mm and the chain should run freely on the bar, you will need more oil than they state, every 10 cuts it will need oil. When using it let the saw do the work, don't use any force to make it cut. The motor has a cut off so no damage is done. The saw will smell for the first few hours cutting. My email if you need to talk more is sanandtezbezy@gmail.com Happy logging, Terry King

Cutting larger diameter logs closer to the bar thus stops it kicking around as seen in this well demonstrated video. Perhaps the manufacturer could add a bumper spike dog to stop jumping so much when not being used as pruner. What about filing chain, file size! 🤔
@terrykingsallotmentgardening11 ай бұрын
I haven't had to sharpen the chain as of yet, not sure if it does tell you the file size in the instructions, but it will be small. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
