Hello, Salazar Knight. I am a huge fan of your work and your Channel. I am also a psychologyst and, during college, I focused on studying behavioural analysis, the science whitch Skinner is father of. I know It may not have beeen your intention, but the thigs you said about Skinner give the wrong idea about him and his science. Yes, Skinner said that there is no mind, but what it means is that what society calls mind and thougths work (funcitionaly) the same way as what society calls behaviour, therefore, it is also behaviour. Also, what you said (and also this comic) indicates that Arkham is broken becouse Jeremiah follows what Skinner says, but he doesen't. Behavioural Analysis proved that punishment and coersion (and that was what Jeremiah was doing in the pannels you showed) doen't work as methods of changing behavior. Skinner and most of the Behavioural Analysts would be against Arkham and what happens there. I know it was not your intention, but what you said may give a bad impression about this science which helps many people and which had a huge impact on my academic life. So I was compled to write this comment.

I’ll never not love Nightwing working with Batman. They’re two halves of the original dynamic duo, and when they get put together on the same side of an issue, they’re almost unstoppable. No matter how long it’s been since they worked together-when the chips are down, things fall right back into place and their teamwork is great.

Joss Navarro the Arkham games were my proper introduction to the character I was introduced to him in Batman begins but he only made short cameos in that film meaning he made far less than no impression in the movie. Heck I didn’t really know his name till later. Also he wasn’t in Batman the animated series, nor the Batman, nor Batman the brave and the bold ( mostly because he’s an extremely violent character) and I didn’t read the comics yet. Finally in 2011 I played Arkham asylum for the first time and he was creepy especially in his interview tapes.

Every Bat media has Arkham but we almost never see Jerimiah himself which sucks. He’s an interesting character and either him or Hugo Strange should always be in charge of the asylum imo
@loganwendigo937
@loganwendigo937 4 жыл бұрын
@Why Do I Even Look At The Comments Tbf Jereimiah somehow got his job back anyways and he is still in charge of Arkham asylum as reveled in a recent Detective Comic story. Hugo never tells anyone who Batman is and his mad scientist side is perfect for the asylum imo. Arkham needs a crazy or villainous person in charge to explain how horrible the place is. It also opens the door for some new interesting stories

Thanks for this latest video. I pulled this run out today to revisit and forgot how good it is. The Grant and Breyfogle collaboration was a tour de force back in the nineties. Would have been nice to see some of the cool Arkam blueprints and give-aways that came with the first issue, but great commentary as always.

Mr. Salazar I didn't know Jeremiah Arkham was the ancestor of the original founder because in the Arkham games they made him the founder of Arkham even though he's not in the comics. also I'm surprised he's actually written as a serious character in the story because every time I've seen him mentioned he come up as a insane weak doctor.

I bought 2 issues of number one because like so many number ones of the time it was polybagged with all the extra materials they used to include because of course we all thought we had to buy at least 2 of everything as collectors yet to this day I still have the copy I bought to read but have no idea where the bagged one went. Then the bubble burst and we all felt really stupid🤦🏻‍♂️ I regret nothing though😂

Your description of Beyond Freedom and Dignity is completely inaccurate. Broadly speaking, the book is about how everything has a cause, and those causes have causes, and that even behaviour is caused by other things. That's it. This offended people's idea of freedom of choice and hence some people's sense of dignity, if their dignity relied on believing they caused all their own behaviour with nothing influencing them. B. F. Skinner was only controversial in the same way that Jack Kevorkian was controversial: he pointed out a thing that was probably true but that no one wanted to acknowledge at the time.
