Salem's Lot Update 2024: To Hit Theaters This October !

That’s great news and they need to show the trailer first before they can release the movie I hope the movie will be streamed on MAX very soon but I don’t know about the theatrical release for the US

I predicted much earlier that there would be an October release to coincide with Halloween. I'm still hoping for a theatrical release. Certain major motion films like Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz and Titanic are meant to be seen on the big screen. A movie like Salem's Lot with its intense action and suspense is no different.

I mentioned this to the chap formally known as boogeyman Ben and he said untill it's made " official " that it's going to the big screen in Ireland and the UK he basically will not believe it. Wasn't it supposed to be " official " it was going straight to Streaming on Max(formally HBO Max)? Now we are expected to believe it's going the theatrical route from 11th Oct, 2O24. Just what the hells going on with this highly anticipated movie? Does anyone really know? 🤔🤔

I could be both. Sometimes movies are released concurrently in theaters and on streaming platforms. The current film "Hit Man" directed by Richard Linklater is an example. That said, this "Salem's Lot" is probably terrible.

WB wouldn't allow IMDB to display the October 11 release date if it was BS. Not sure why Ben is adopting this attitude. The guy who runs Salem's Lot Then & Now is friends with a MAX employee.

September trailer. Apparently! End of September, so I'm told by my source!! Now, if this is true, the movie itself is hardly likely to drop October 11th in the UK and Ireland, as stated for weeks on end by IMDb.

They're not releasing it because, as with most movies today, it sucks. Everyone out there who is excited and looking forward to seeing it, you are dreaming and living in a fantasy world if you actually believe it will be good.

Recently been told trailer coming end of September, and we are expected to believe it's an October 11th theatrical release in the UK and Ireland. Sounds a little ' off ' to me, folks! If this movie trailer is not ' dropping ' till the end of September we are not going to be getting the movie itself from 11th of October in the UK and Ireland. Rather strange state of affairs, this whole darn production!! 😕

Great news! Hopefully, it will get King's endorsement. I've read the book four times and seen the old movie about as many times as I've read the book. The Danny Glick scene in the book and movie were creepy as hell! 🤘

The territories where it's going to cinemas are territories where Max has yet to launch. These tend to be territories where HBO has pre-existing deals with other broadcasters (e.g. Sky in the UK and Ireland). I'd still expect a Max release wherever that's available to them.

Hoping we get a trailer. I want to see the Mike Ryerson grave scene and hoards of vampires people were raving about. I hope after this movie, they’ll take a break on remaking Kings work and start adapting his non adapted works.

I hope in the new one they have included the scene from the source material were Charlie Rhode's gets set upon by Vampire school children on his own school bus. I'd love to have seen that particular scene in the Hooper version. It was included in the 2OO4 Mikael Solomon version. And I thought that particular scene was quite well executed.

Exactly. The book is too long form for just a one and done 2 hour movie. It needed either a series or a movie split into two with the same runtime as Dune

They did FOUR different cuts of the film before they came up with something they felt was releasable. Having read a script summary, it sounds like an absolute dumpster fire. Wan fought with the director over whether it would be a faithful book adaptation (the director)or an extremely loose remake of the Hooper TV series (Wan). Wan won...and now, based on word of mouth, we all lose.
