I can't believe someone actually attempted to compare this to "AHS". "AHS" is okay but I really find that one's interest (definitely mine, anyway) wanes more than it peaks and it's not half as creative (or addictive) as this masterpiece! The suspense just continues to grow with each episode but the damn finales (of both seasons so far) seem to come too soon... Now I know the disappointment of a new bride with an over-excited groom on her wedding night... ROLL ON, HALLOWEEN!!!

Geffen Skan it actually is a lot like AHS. I've watched both shows and they both have the same intense twists and atmospheres.

I, like all other huge fans of the show, completely disagree with you there (surprise, surprise)! It is nothing like AHS whatsoever. Are you perhaps stoned when you watch them? Very different atmospheres and the twists are also totally different.

Sorry, Fancy Elk, but the only thing they have in common is that they are both in the same genre. One's about witches during the witch trials in puritanical 'Salem', first setting out to perform the Grand Rite to raise the Devil and, subsequently, let all Hell loose, whereas 'AHS' is always about a bunch of psychos running around slaughtering each other. Not a bad show, by the way - loving the Roanoke episodes. The Coven, maybe, was a LITTLE bit similar but, by no means, a lot like 'Salem' at all. Plus, I always find myself yawning halfway through AHS seasons but am constantly on the edge of my seat watching 'Salem'. Completely different storylines and completely different ambience...

Loki why do you say huge fans of the show like I'm not included? I love this show, it's my favourite. I watched AHS and Salem with friends so they both were cool to me. But you are right, Salem is better. I'm just saying that they were both similar to me. I don't think comparing one to the other lowers the production grade at all.

Yeah, Mary came back to life but she's technically not a living soul anymore ... Idk it bothers me because she was my favorite even though she was the Queen of Darkness.

This show is very magnificent it correctly balances action and great storytelling that immerses the viewer into their world. And yeah it's pretty graphic and gory!!

If you're into cult tv, you'll really like it. Season 1 starts kinda slow and the effects & use of magic are very practical. The actors are phenomenal. It picks up a lot at the height of season 1 & season 2

Seasons 1 and 2 were very interesting, and there wasn't really any character to root for, given that most of them went bad eventually. But it seems that this season we'll be rooting for Mary.

I have been waiting over a year for the 3rd and last season to be released on DVD. From my research it will never happen. How can you release the first two seasons and not release the third. Twentieth Century Fox just dropped a major problem with fans of this show. I called them and some dim wit couldn't answer the question that I asked her. They will never release a DVD to finish off the series. I am boycotting Twentieth Century Fox for poor management and bad marketing. I am super pissed. I know that streaming movies is the future. I am not interested. When you buy a DVD movie, you own it. Everything else is renting.

I love how season three has a different motivation for the show. In season 1, the show was about Mary and Tituba bringing the Devil to Earth. Season 2, Mary was on the same path until she found out that she would have to sacrifice her own son. In both seasons, I thought Mary and Tituba are stupid young women who had no idea what they were doing to Salem as a whole and their own souls. Janet Montgomery basically said that Mary ended up in Hell during the time she was dead. I'm curious to find out if Mary will decide to break her contract with the Devil and choose to believe in God again.
