@@miatran7198 Andy goes, "so if there was a secondary energy option that was available which would keep you inflation-proof no matter what energy costs went up to and it would save you money would you want to know about it, yes or no?" and the customer likely says, "yes, I would want to hear more about that please" which basically makes it like the customer thinks it's their idea to have Andy follow up with more concrete information on how to actually buy whatever product/help Andy gives to him. Later, if the customer was telling the story of how it went to their spouse or something, they'd basically say, "after he gave me the basic information about the needs of having a new secondary energy, I (emphasis on the 'I') decided that it was favorable to get more information from him, cuz I (again, emphasis on the 'I') saw it was a good idea."

I immediately implemented his script with the "I've heard many moving nightmares" approach to create uncertainty and then used his "iron clad handshake" over the phone approach to create certainty. This is after I do the whole estimate process where I've been using Andy's phone call techniques for example pausing and saying "hey while I pull up the estimate sheet, how's your day going? Where you calling from? Small talk small talk small talk get to know each other and build rapport". Closing rate has gone up at least 20-25% at higher prices. Great stuff.

Every successful corporation has their own “university“ or type of retreat where they emphasize a great deal on training. I work for a company where I was the branch manager, and they were great before I went to Real Estate. That company‘s name was “Granite Telecommunications“ we had sales university and project management university that we called “Granite university“. This separated us from the competition because the competition did not have the extracurricular training for its people. Thus, Andy is 100% correct in this assessment.

To the man's credit he seems to possess a high degree of verbal/linguistic fluency and improvisation. That sort of focused presence and flexibility can likely be coached to an extent, but is ideally cultivated through diverse situational experience. While I commend his composure and audience engagement, I imagine the most compelling and persuasive salesmen tend to be blessed with an innate conversational prowess and extroversion that becomes further refined by deliberate preparation/specialized knowledge.

tbh I know nothing about sales tactics, but can imagine how creating a sense of urgency/scarcity might induce a kneejerk decision that's less optimal for the customer than had they stopped to reflect on the options available.
