On this Sally’s Speed Shop episode, we step way back in time…to the 1800’s. In our search for power for our ’65 Mustang Fastback, we find an engine that actually came out of the same year and model. The engine, a Ford 289, has been sitting for decades in a building built when people were still using real horsepower. We head to “The Buggy Shop Museum” in Senoia, GA to hear the story of the motor and of simpler times.
Getting this engine is huge step towards getting the car back on the road. Will it run? We have no idea! It's been sitting for 40 years. Follow along to watch the progress.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I have a 66 mustang with the original 289 that’s been in my family for 44 years. My grandfather gave it to me about 10 years ago and I’ve now been driving it for 4 years.

Well gents, it's my first time watching yer channel. That said, it's probably not a Hippo, hell, it may not even be an "A" code 4 barrel motor.. Does it matter? I 🤔 think not, it was great adventure, and awesome story, and great people, it's all 😊👍.!!! Merry Christmas 🎄, and I'll looking to hear, whatever that "twist" is, that you mentioned in the the comments already, when the time comes.. Take care..

Very good find and a great way to start - with the bones of a 289 HP and not just a basic 289. If I remember right the rotating assembly in general was beefier. Heads a little better too. Also, my relatives born around the turn of the 19th/20th century in Troup and Meriwether used to say it a little differently or so it sounded to my ears. More like kah-EE-tah. Maybe they just said if fast LOL.

Turns out there’s a twist to this motor so you’ll have to wait for the next episode to see haha and oh yes, proper enunciation isn’t exactly what this area of the country is known for 😅

I don’t know if you thought that motor was a hipo 289 but from what I could see Jacob that’s the wrong harmonic balancer for a hipo k code 289. Enjoy your channel btw
