Hi Marcin, thanks for the videos. I was born in Cartagena then raised in New Orleans. I remember my mother saying that life in the USA was so hurried. I’m currently living in Dallas in a very cosmopolitan area (Latinos, Arabs, Indians, Europeans of all ancestries). Everyone is running to and fro with no time for living or loving each other and life. I say all this to say that it is a global phenomenon driven by an insatiable quest for wealth and power. We all need to work to live, but Salsa (music and dance) certainly provides a happy balance to our lives. Thanks for sharing your time and talents.

The essential advide came in the last minute 😊 - relaxation is key. In addition: I tell my Salsa students it's the usage of release & contract, of letting go/dropping and body tension/picking it up. Most people have a hard time with that. Relaxation is just as much part of dancing as body control/tension is.

So do you do this in partner work or keep it level most of the time?
@krambodance33773 жыл бұрын
Usually no bouncing in partnerwork, so keeping it level increases your accuracy and speed. Sometimes however can be used to relax, have fun with the music or with the partner. Use with caution 😁😁

@@krambodance3377 Thanks for the reply. The only reason I ask is because my partnerwork basic (and movement in general) looks like hot garbage even though my lead Is pretty good. Do you have any vids on how partnerwork body movement should look vs solo?
@krambodance33773 жыл бұрын
In my experience it's all about your movement awerness, the more you practice dancing in general the more it grows. I don't have a specyfic partnerwork body movement class because I think all my classes are exactly about that! So my quick tip: dance and practice a lot, record yourself think about what could be improved and work on exactly that. Take private lessons with people whose style and movement is great, ask questions, explore different genres, be curious and train. Be patient and persistent. Good luck brother!

I would say the drop or bounce is like being pushed/shoved unexpectedly from behind by a stranger
