We discovered Saltburn in 2019 and loved it. A typical olde worlde seaside town. We didn’t venture up into the town but did spend a couple of hours on a traditional deck chair on the beach (not man places still do them). Where the beck is in that valley there is a little railway and a lovely park area. We spent a good while sat on a bench watching the world go by. I think there is another park at the other end of promenade too but we didn’t venture that far on.

"Gee mate" you are certainly bring back some lovely memories, we where at "Saltburn" 18 years ago in the middle of winter the wind was that cold it was like ice and you could hardly walk in it. But we did and we walked out to the end of the pier, it was high tide and I always remember the strong smell of the salt air. We where the only ones there that day. It has all changed since then, with all the shops in front of the pier, even the outside of the old Ship Pub" I remember you could park right out the front of it with tables and chairs in the front of it we had a couple of "pints of beer" sitting at those tables. Looking forward to getting back there to have a couple more "Pints" Thanks for the memories "mate"

The nice green area to the left of the beck and part of the car park used to be a boating lake where we had loads of fun, the water was only ever knee deep but sufficient for the boats that you could hire. Over the road opposite the chippy on the beach used to be the waltzers which blasted the music out which from memory was something like the bay city rollers. The good old days.

You certainly picked a good sunny day to tour Saltburn, it's still a great place even when it's raining. We usually park on the top in one of the side streets, walk down the bank past the Spa Hotel - another fine eating place. We tend to eat in either the Spa or the Vista del mar as both these places have made us very welcome when we had dogs with us. It's a pity the Cliff lift wasn't open when you were filming, it recently had a major overhaul & is very reasonably priced to use. It's a great feeling - like going back in time. Thanks for your video, they give people a good insight into a place. As far as the music goes - I do enjoy it, but we read your comments so it can be turned down or even off.

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed it in Saltburn and will definitely be back although hopefully the cliff train will be open to help me back up to my car 🤣 Re the music - I put it on there for people who love it, and like you say people who don't can simply turn it down or play their own music whilst watching these. I find that if I don't put music on, most people only watch about 1 minute of the video but with music on most people watch most of the video!

A little or maybe it is well known but the funicular tramway is unique in the fact that it is not like the few remaining in the country - this one is run by water that fills a tank and the tram is pulled up by the weight of the water

No way! That's amazing! I'm only familiar with the ones at Scarborough - I'd assumed they all worked the same way!

This is our go to place on this part of the coast, love it! Either a nice long walk along the beach, or up on the cliff and part of the Cleveland way. Also what someone else said the garden area is also nice to enjoy. Try and go a few times a year and always park on the top and walk up and down burns of the fish & chips 😋. Thanks for another great video
