hey when making the cake base and the icing should i use a whisk attachment or a paddle attachment for a stand mixer i usually use a whisk attachment but wanted to double check

Hi,. I wouldn't recommend this as sugar does a lot more in baked goods than just add sweetness. It also helps with structure and moisture.

also i have another question how much salt should i add to the tinned carnations caramel? or should i leave it and also how long should i bake each cake for as i only have 2 tins so i am going to be cooking one by itself how long do you recommend i should put the 2 tins in together for and how long should i put just the one tin in for?

Hi, I would start with 1 tsp, stir it in well, then taste and see if you'd like more. Some people like it more salty than others so it really depends on you. You bake the cakes for the same amount of time, it doesn't matter how many are in the oven together. Of course all ovens can vary on timings slightly, so do check that a thin skewer comes out of the middle clean before removing them from the oven. Let me know if you have any other questions!

It depends on the thickness. You may need to warm it briefly in the microwave to make it more pourable, 20-30 seconds in the microwave is usually enough.
