@@BookZealots Hello. Thank you for replying! Yes, my general understanding is that God instituted the sabbath so that man could rest for all their work on the seventh day (Saturday). This rest IS forever but now that we have Jesus we have a “spiritual rest” from our “work” (working to be right with God) we don’t have to do that anymore because Jesus did it for us. Our sabbath is eternal but it is resting on Jesus. So it was moved to Resurrection Day Sunday to signify this new rest from our work of spiritual striving. See Hebrews 4 on this topic.

I had tried to get information about the book, (long before I even owned it), from someone in a live feed, on another booktuber's channel. He was so vague I chalked it up to he didn't read it or didn't understand it. But now... now I have a new perspective. Thank you.

James could have been great ......but the author ..... I was so disappointed. Crime and Punishment's psychology is done really well. I'm considering doing a more indepth review. I'm not sure. I wrote the cast in the back and their relations so I didn't get confused. It's a mystery, sort of, so if you like mysteries, and morals play a part in the end.... I was wondering if something else was going to happen. I'm reading great books this month, but Sept was still a good month. Happy reading~

“Sabbath” technically speaking is Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown. This is what the authors are saying they discontinued after the Resurrection.

Hello! The platform shadowbanned your comment and then deleted my response. How rude of them. Yes! I agree with you on the day of the Sabbath. It is according to the Jewish "day" as you explained. Gold told his people to keep the Sabbath holy forever and in Acts is shows the disciples continuing to observe the Sabbath; even Paul when he became a follower of Christ. At what point did they stop? Because if gentiles are grafted in and are now part of the tree, and even guests or strangers must observe then we should also be observing. Right? If you have some verses I'd love to know them and study them. I haven't done a deep dive on the subject, but forever means forever. I appreciate you commenting and hopefully this response will go through.

I didn't mention one of my pet peeves of how people speak today, but I think it could be included in the word salad and that's the word "like" every three words. And there are so many college students that speak this way. It doesn't sound intelligent at all and it's distracting from what they're trying to say.

Thank you for posting this. Because last week I found the novel, James. And after watching this video I have decided that I am not going to read it. Thankfully I only paid 50 cents for my copy. I'm not even sure why I bought it because I do not care for anything written by Mark Twain. I never got past one or two chapters in both Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. For some reason, which I can not explain, I just do not enjoy the way Mark Twain writes. And I agree with you about the Little things that you know to not be true or correct in a novel. I am currently reading The Revenant. A movie was made from the story. That early 1800's American West movie, where a Huge Bear attacks a Trapper and he is left to die but doesn't die. I haven't seen the movie. But in the novel some things that the author writes about doesn't match up to what I've read in other Non Fiction books. Books such as "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee". So knowing what I've read in non fiction books, the fact that in the novel it is almost the complete opposite really bothers me and takes me out of the story. I will explain when I review the novel. And, and! When you Soft DNF a book, do you pick up where you left off? Or, do you do like me and start all over from the beginning? I have to start all over again to bring me up to speed. It's just something I do and it annoys me. Yes, I annoy myself! Sorry for such a short comment. I was in a hurry! Thank you -James.

ahahahahaha, I LOVE the way you ended your comment James. I had to read your comment to Prometheus. I felt sad at first that I ruined James for you. Mark Twain's writing is much better. I think you would appreciate his book Roughing It. I did see your bookhaul with James and didn't want to say anything negative about it. If you want specific details I'm willing to share them in the comments so you can make a more informed decision. I had to look up The Revenant, (the movie). I saw your video talking about the book. I look forward to your review on it and how the author got things wrong. Since you mentioned Bury My Heart... I gather the author of The Revenant got things wrong about survival or specifically tribes? I usually remember enough of a book I soft dnf'd that I do not start over. Just today I asked Prometheus if I should start all over with the Mayflower by Philbrick and he said no. We have the documentary and they followed the book really well. That was the whole reason I put the book down. I felt I had already read the book. If I didn't get very far into a fictional book and soft dnf'd it, I will start at the very beginning. Oh my goodness James, you had me laughing when you explained your frustration with yourself and I thoroughly enjoyed your short comment. Hopefully next time you'll have more time to comment in length. 🤗 Hugs to Bella. Her rest and sunshine (anywhere but on the grass) will do her good.

I didn't finish my reread of Crime and Punishment, but I love that book. The epilogue was not originally going to be included, from what I remember. I think in many ways it would be better without the epilogue, but I can also understand including it because he was trying to bring the religious aspects introduced full circle. Either way, I find it very thought provoking and will read it many more times I'm sure.

Oh, I didn't know that. Okay, yes, I think the book would be so much better with out the ending/epilogue. The writing is great and the psychology is great. I was sucked into the story and was in that tomb of a room he dwelled in. I was mentally in that book. Not many authors can do that. Have you read Brother's karamazov? And should I stop before the ending? LOL I was wondering so many options and wondering which way FD would have his character go.

Those great Russians loved their stories with sidebars of other stories, which I love. From my understanding, they loved Dickens, who loves his stories with sidebar other stories. I love them so much. LOL Do they tie up those stories a slightly too-tight bow at the end sometimes? Yes, but I still love those stories.

I keep meaning to record a video about my annotation system. Basically green is good information, something that I really like, whether it's nonfiction/fiction. Blue is information I want to research. Red/orange/pink/yellow are for items that are in error, vileness, bad writing, etc of varying degrees. purple is something I want to recall, something endearing, etc.
