just wanted to drop a note of encouragement: I subscribe to a lot of sailing/DIY channels and your content, production quality, and storyline is as good as any of the 100,000 plus subscriber channels. It just takes time, hard work, and a little luck to get noticed by the youtube algorithm.

Hi Russ! Thank you! We keep plugging away... I really to appreciate you saying this. It means a lot!! Becky and I were talking tonight, for quite a while about this same thing. It takes time and tenacity. We put a lot of thought and work into our production. Thanks for following and taking the time to leave such a nice note! Cheers -Corey

Hi Kevin, Thank you! I very much appreciate the support. The KZbin world is a tough nut to crack. My Dad loved his truck. He had is stripped all the way to the chassis and rebuilt it! Every nut and bolt was assembled by him!

The sharpie writing on the top of the cockpit legs are from the builder, FP, to help the assemblers select the right parts for each model. Standard parts for a model will simply have the model written, while custom parts will have the model and hull number written. Great work developing your content.

Aww man what a cool video. I remember that wood shop and it’s crazy how it still looks almost the same as I remember 😊. Your dad was very talented and I remember him building a lot of things. Beautiful table for sure❤️ Great video as always guys🥰

I'd love to see how the cockpit table turns out - I'm definitely not crazy about mine. Another option for the main salon table is to use the original one - mine can be dropped down and fits in a lip on the seats to create a huge flat area that can double as a lounging pad or extra bed. You would just need some extra cushions for the table area. The way you re-did the floor in the previous video is sheer brilliance! I tried putting down some fake teak but it's just not the same.

Hi Phillip, we will definitely do a follow up on the table. I have several almost completed projects. Maybe I’ll do a wrap up video to highlight everything. I saw the lip on the sofa and figured it was for a drop down table. There are many weird things about our boat. The port light plexiglass, the cabinets in the births, our doors on the heads are homemade out of starboard... the list goes on. I wonder why all these things were changed 🤷‍♂️. Thank you regarding the floor. It looks great in person too. We hope to start the owners version conversion soon. I would love to see pictures our yours! Thanks again! -Corey

Those cooking implements will probably last longer than your boat. 👍🙂 I inherited my mom’s Dutch oven and sauce pan with a small frying pa. Great cookware.

Great table. But wood glue isn't the best for the Marine environment. And you may have wanted to use some dowels for your joints. But Great video. Until next week. Aloha and Mahalo from the Big Island 🏝of Hawaii 🏝

Hi Bill! Yeah, I thought twice about the glue. I did use a plate jointer with biscuits on the table wings (didn’t make it into the video) so that should help. I think I’m going to do an epoxy finish to protect it and give the glue joints some help. I’ve seen Mads on YT channel SailLife do an epoxy finish, with varnish over the epoxy to assist with UV degradation. As of today, the table is still raw, so I have lots of options. Do you have any suggestions? Corey
@kptbillburkett8735
@kptbillburkett8735 3 жыл бұрын
@@SaltyEscape you can use the thickened epoxy to join the wood together. And yes I did the same thing. I put epoxy over the wood and thin put the varnish over it. It lasted three years before I had to revarnish. And that was my wood rails outside. The wood inside is still to this day looking fine.

Have you - in one of your videoes mentioned height different places in the boat and also the qize of the berths?

Hey there! I don’t think we’ve mentioned it specifically. I don’t know the actual measurements but I’m 6,3 and my head touches the ceiling near the refrigerator in the galley. Otherwise there is plenty of headroom. Are you shopping for a boat like ours?

@@SaltyEscape Thanks. Have you any idea of the lenght of the Berths? At the moment I am looking at various models - the Venezia is one of them, but as you know Covid-19 has made any boatshopping abroad difficult :)

Well, the aft cabins easily hold a queen mattress and there is about 10-12 square feet of floor. The forward cabins have similar floor space but the mattress is about 60 inches by 85 inches. (By memory). Seems to be a good well-made boat. We did look at another Venezia 42 and the deck felt soft in a few areas which is curious because at the time Fontaine Pajot was Using a PVC Coring material. Our boat feels solid all the way around. As far as working on our boat, The wiring is by far the hardest. There Is limited access to run new wires and the previous owner has already done some “work” making it even more difficult. I’m happy to try and answer any other questions, keep us posted if you purchase one! -Corey

I'm curious since its been a couple years now. How has that table held up in the marine environment without any biscuits in the joints?

Well, there WAS biscuits in the joints. The joints held fine. The epoxy finish DID not hold up to the UV. I’ve made a new table out of teak.
