he did a bad ass job, a lot of these guys on youtube have other people do the hard work, and just display their truck. they seem to be just the pocket book and bolt something on once and while. he fixed and built his truck, accomplishment. i like when he talks about getting the inspected/registration... YESS!!! it passed.

Right? He seems so pained in this video. I've done a fair bit of repairs myself and it's always more time than expected. Do you really think he could even sell it anywhere close to the 28k he put into it with all the visible damage under the hood and salvage title? I can find plenty of non-damaged, clean titled ones for $28k on craigslist

I give this guy all the credit in the world. He got rid of those giant monsters that are really worthless. Unless you have a major business that is your Truck is your office. He did his homework found a sweet deal. Got into something up to his neck because he really didn’t know what he was doing and just pushed through. What an inspirational video and a bad ass truck. If he does any engine mods I would do an engine swap. 16 valve Cummins diesel. Oh hell yeah....!!!!!!!!

BEAUTIFUL TRUCK!!!!! Great story. I have 2 Tacomas, a 2001 and a 2016 Great story, you had so many upsets and so many defeats along the way, yet you won more of the battles and you won the war. For me you demonstrated your brilliance with the triangle jig where you squared everything by following the triangle to the next, that was genius. NEVER get rid of this truck, pass it down to your kids and tell them the story. Great story, great share, Merry Christmas from Florida.

Wrap was $900 + some extra material for ruined panels. About 150 hours between 2 dudes. So roughly $2200 in hours spent. It all adds up to maybe $3500 in total spent instead of the $5000 for doing a wrap professionaly. The benefit is that you learned how to do it, though. That's priceless. I'd try to do a raptor lining type of paint myself for maybe $500. Does not have to be black. Lighter colors in such liners look amazing. Might be worth considering if the wrap does not hold up for all the offroad use.

Didn't know Jeff Ament had a little brother 🤙 Incredibly motivating story, especially with no skill set in this field!! Well done man.

I'm doing almost the exact same thing on a salvage 200 series Land Cruiser from Copart. I'm in WA state, so also getting a rebuilt title. Currently the entire dash and every interior panel is pulled out. Installing new speakers, stereo, dynamat, 12v dual battery wiring, etc. It's currently getting a new rear quarter panel. I'll be installing passenger fender and door next week, along with stud welder dent pulls and body filler, then prepping for paint and it's off to Maaco. Side curtain bags were indeed a pain, but all installed now. Anyhow, I'll be documenting much of the work if you're interested in checking it out. Either way, great job! Looks absolutely amazing and the sense of accomplishment and pride is awesome, along with all the new skills gained. Congrats on the amazing truck! Aloha!

@@tacomabeast I''d love to. Any that you recommend this side of the Mississippi? I get down to Cali and Utah/4 corners occasionally.
