It's about time JLR did much more to prevent theft of their products than they have, this has been going on for years. I sat on a jury for a case of an attempted Range Rover theft several years ago, nothing seems to have changed to improve their security.

Rob I just thought, the socket thing that Chris found in the rear offside that had nothing plugged into it might be there for the wiring kit that comes with a genuine Land Rover tow pack, it just plugs in there and goes down to the seven pin or now 13 pin towing wiring socket by the tow ball. Excellent video cannot wait for part two. (Those Automatrics M track vids are superb - your so right.) 😊

ICE means Internal Combustion Engine, especially if it's come from copart they have to specify weather it's an Electrical Vehicle, or if it's a hybrid or if it is purely a Combustion Engine. Hope this helps in the future :)

Hi Rob and Chris i work at a recovery yard in police storage/compound. just and insite into the drill being in the car. thiefs use them for quick changes of cloned plates we see it a lot in stolen cars we recover. The car was most likely not examined by forensics as it was locked and remained locked when you had it delivered.

A cliffhanger!! Really interesting guys. Was watching another channel today who was saying that 90 Range Rovers are stolen in London per day and that owners are struggling to insure them with a knock-on effect on values. LR are rolling out a fix for more recent vehicles, I think 2018 onwards.

I've got exactly the same model. The KVM is a real pain as they have a tendency to fail, I use KWATronics in Leicester, he's a one man band and really great guy, charged me £100 to reprogram, solder in a new diode and match up the 2 keys and re fit the KVM. Car has been faultless ever since.

Those phone apps are real good fun, my old boss traded his Ford F150 off on a new truck. one day I was in the workshop at his farm fixing equipment and he says" oh that's interesting, I've still got the app for the old truck here on my phone". He told me exactly where it was parked at that time in a town 2 hours north of us, then he said if you want real fun we can still unlock it or start it ! Maybe the umbrella's from the customer curtesy department at the dealers so you can stand on the side of the motorway in the rain, waiting for recovery truck when it breaks down L.O.L. I was surprised you bought this, A few channels that deal cars have said they are bad news and hard to insure inside the M25 and Range Rovers are losing money by the day and not getting any where near cap value at auction with tax costs etc.

Rob ... A question ... How come virtually every part on modern cars these days is "programmed" to the ecu/bsi/etc ... yet on these RR you can simply unplug the original KVM & plug in a completely differant one (with a key programmed to it) & it allows it to start??? WTF .... How is that even possible?? Can anyone enlighten me? Why does the cars can system just "permit" this new module & allow it to work? If that's how easy it is to steal RR then i'm not surprised the rate of theft has gone through the roof!

Looks like one that AutoMatrix recovery agent has not since retook back . He uses a RF machine and the company put the tracker in alarm and he goes to the last known location and gets the cars or vans of plant machinery back . But Land rover get nicked so easy . The bandits scan the house and get the key signal then point it at the car and it's away all done in around 30seconds . Sometimes less than that . Put your keys in a metal money box or something like that.
