Animals have a instinctual resentment of humans for bringing them into fallenness. Animals suffer the consequences of our sin, even though they had no part in it. But Animals recognize that Holy people are not to blame for the suffering of the world around them, which is why there are so many stories of Saints befriending deadly animals.

My sister went to a Catholic high school and she told me one of the nuns told her class that our pets or animals in general don't go to Heaven. We absolutely refuse to believe that since animals can be more pure of heart than their human counterparts. My dog, Baloo, was the most gentle and sweetest soul I've ever known, human or otherwise. If anyone I know deserves to be in Heaven, it's him.
@PrzybyszzMatplanety
@PrzybyszzMatplanety 4 ай бұрын
That's technically true because Heaven is unique realtionship with God that was gifted only to Angels and humans. Animals are incapable of seeing God like saved people do. So animals can't go to Heaven. However, I'm 100% certain they will be in Paradise, that is New Earth God promised to create after end of times. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense for animals to be in Noah's Ark and we know they were (are) in Eden as well. Besides they were not subjected to corruption because of their actions, but because of ours. It's our fault they're in current situation, not theirs. God created animals and they're good, nothing good will be lost when He returns to repair whole creation.

im an orthodox christian from American and recently lost my dog of 11 years to kidney failure its devastated me - i watched your video to gain some comfort from her passing. she embodied everything i strive to be as a christian when it comes to love and kindness - i cant even imagine heaven that doesn't include a dog so full of love, kindness, forgiveness, and peace as she did. i like to be reminded of the fact that through Adam all of creation fell and if that is true then through christ all of creation is redeemed. how often to the saints encounter animals in their lives that seems to be sent by god - why wouldnt god do that to those of us who are not saints? if they are used by god then he truely must have a place in his heart for all his creation not just man.

Thank you for sharing. My family has many animals some live in the house; five cats and two dogs. But we also have animals that live outside our home; feral cats that we feed and care for everyday. When I grew up on the farm we called them farm cats; they know this is their home, we feed them and make sure that they have water, even during the winter. We also feed the birds; they bring us such joy with their singing, praising the Lord. The birds are a special gift from God.

I think animals are just automatically saved since they don’t really know the difference between right or wrong
@constantiazhang8831

@Amaya Voir an animal that does things that are perceived to be “wrong” by humans(e.g. eat food that doesn’t belong to it, mate with a blood relative, hurt humans or other animals, spread diseases to humans, etc) is not any more evil than an animal that does “right” things, like saving babies. In fact, an animal that’s keen to save babies and help humans might not be averse to doing “bad” things at all, and no one can blame it for its instincts and it’s uninformed choices. You simply cannot judge them with human rules and human morality. To do so would imply that you hold your feelings and knowledge above the rules of God’s nature.

Remember in the Holy Scriptures when God used a Donkey to stop Valaam from his wickedness. Or when Jesus said to Pharisees that were angry that Jerusalem was greeting him with palms and crying out Hosanna! Jesus replied if they don't say it the rocks will cry out saying it. [For the people out there with pet rocks]. Then there are countless saints Catholic and Orthodox that have animals as a integral part of there ministry. St. Ignatius of Antioch during his martyrdom when the lions ate his body they refused to eat his heart because the words of Christ name was written on it. St. Eusebus [spelt it wrong] Apostle John the Theologian first disciple when Rome first tried to martyr him the animals straight up refused to eat him and praise God with human speech. Then you got St. Mary of Egypt who great repentance and ascetic life was an icon to all monastics, that when she died a lion in the desert helped the old father-monk to dig her a proper grave. There are countless times where God used not only people but all of his creation to give witness to the truth. And to me that merits a eternity in heaven. Let's not forget the ravens that feed Elijah. We can learn something from these animals, they are more obedient than most people. God instructed the birds to take care of Elijah in the desert but when Jonah was instructed to preach to Ninevah he ran away. How many of us are willing to be obedient to God when it is inconvenient. I pretty sure the flight to get bread took longer than usual, and they had to feed their young too. So there is so much to learn from these animals I guess that's why St. Francis of Assisi loved to use them as a teaching tool. But hey, everyone to their own. I'm just a Eastern Catholic convert.

Where have you been all my life??? I love you! I have a close family with Greek Orthodox, Catholic (me mostly) AND Bible church. I've read so much and heard sooooo many polemical claims online. Now, down to the business of this video: My daughter Theresa was very wise and sweet and loved animals She had a tiny kitten the she was so devoted to it broke her heart when her toddler brother threw it up and broke its neck. When I say "broke her heart" I mean it. She forgave him right away...then had many visitations including Jesus waving across a river and smiling. He was holding her kitten. She fell ill suddenly and passed away on Nov. 21, 1989...the day Mary went to the Temple. Now we had a very good friend, Wendy, raised in a strict Catholic school...she claimed Heaven we exactly what you, sir, described as Gnosticism. She was among our friends after the funeral who came over for coffee. We were standing around and saw Wendy come in the door and stop in shock. She said, "I just saw Theresa here...she was wearing a white dress and her hair was long with a ribbon. She had her kitten on her shoulder and laughed at me. She said, 'SEE, WENDY, I TOLD YOU SO!!!" I have many such stories but people don't seem to like Heaven....it scares them because it's not for just having a good social credit score...Hee Hee! Big hug from Deanna Clark...

Sure she's annoying, Messy and keeps on stealing from the Table, but I only ever want whats best for her. She also made me realize the importance of sacrifice and responsibility. I am of a firm belief that every living being has possession of a soul in one form or another, what makes Humans so important isn't just the fact that we possess a soul but rather, our soul is by far the most complex out of all the rest. Since this is the case, I believe all souls have the opportunity to enter into Heaven which includes plants and animals. All life, no matter how basic is still life and thus a creation from the spiritual God and thus a blessing so of course all life possesses a soul and all life has the ability to be accepted into Heaven.

I think that this is a reasonable discussion and conclusion on the salvation of animals, which by extent is the salvation of the rest of the natural world. There is no dogmatic teaching on this particular topic because it hasn't been revealed to us, therefore the Orthodox tradition does not attempt to add to the teachings that we have already received from the saints. Be wary of those who attempt to explain such mysteries and fall into the pit of prelest.

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God;`for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.`` (Romans 8:19-23) St. Paul says that the resurrection includes the entire creation which, presumably, includes animals. St. Popovic is in good company!

"I said to myself concerning humans, 'God sifts them in order to show them that they are like beasts.' For the fate of humans and the fate of the beast is the same. The death of the one is like the death of the other, for both are mortal. Man has no advantage over the beast, for both are fleeting. Both go to one place-both came from dust and both return to dust. For no one knows whether the spirit of a human ascends to heaven and whether the spirit of the beast descends to the ground!" (Eccl 3:18-21 LEB) Solomon, the wisest man in all the earth (who, sadly, fell prey to idolatry at the end of his life) seemed to believe quite strongly that even animals had spirits that persisted, to one degree or another, after their death. And in accord with this, the numerous descriptions of the new heavens and new earth that we can find in Scripture frequently detail the presence of animals. My favorite is Isaiah 11:6-9, "And a wolf shall stay with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie down with a kid, and a calf and a lion and a fatling together as a small boy leads them. And a cow and a bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together. And a lion shall eat straw like the cattle. And an infant shall play over a serpent’s hole, and a toddler shall put his hand on a viper’s hole. They will not injure and they will not destroy on all of my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea." (LEB) So, if the fullness of creation is restored and perfected in Christ at his parousia (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 8:18-25; 2 Pet 3:1-13), then why would the animals we loved so dearly in this life not be present? And the question is compounded all the more when one considers that "now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever he is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is" (1 John 3:2). By God's grace, and the mercy of Christ, and the power of his Holy Spirit, we will have undergone theosis at our resurrection, and will have been transformation from one degree of glory to another (1 Cor 15). Will we then not be able, if we so willed, to resurrect our pets to a new life? I believe we certainly will have the ability to do so, if God had not already done so for us.

As a Roman Catholic I am a big fan of St. Francis di Paola, St. Martin de Porres, St. Philip Neri, and the ever-popular St. Francis of Assisi, all of whom were known for their regard for animals. St. Francis di Paola was even vegan, and he is said to have resurrected his pet animal (Fish or lamb depending on what you read) when someone else killed and ate it.

God has blessed us with animals (you can tell from my icon that I love dogs lol). I know many people who get comfort from their pets. I believe God wants us to show compassion to animals because the Bible shows how God cares for all creatures. I have no idea if animals go to heaven, but I know God view all things prefect, which is enough for me. I am ok with hunting and eating meat, but I believe it is immoral to make those animals suffer in the process. If you will hunt, kill the animal quickly, not in a cruel way.

Why I hate the .223 Remington as a hunting rifle for deer. It mostly wounds the animal instead of killing it quickly like a 30-30 Winchester or 30-06Springfield. Personally I feel that "salvation" of animals doesn't make sense. Animals are not saved because they do not need to be saved. Sin is a disorder unique to humans, right? It is our willful rejection and separation from God. So of course animals are not seperated from the life of God and need no salvation. I think that animals, along with all things will have have its place in the New Creation. Of course this is my personal take.
@RamLaska

Man, from a strict linguistic sense of the word, this makes sense. I think someone could also argue that animals are a part of the natural order, and belong to the natural order. Therefore, their ultimate status isn't any more definitely known as the rocks under your feet. However, I think that when we take animals into our homes, they become a real part of the family and take part in our eternal home. But that's a gut feeling.
@insertnamehere3106

@@RamLaska and I definitely don't see anything wrong with that "gut feeling". We place our hope in God's Providence but that hope requires a bit of uncerainty, even of our own fate. I have similar questions about so-called "service animals" (you know, the person who has to bring their chihuahua on the plane because they get nervous)... What if I am nervous around chihuahuas? Do I get to bring my Pitbull to make feel safe around the Chihuahua? What about cobras and mongooses? Spiders and flies? Orcas and seals? Who is really the bad guy? I think people are way too concerned about their pets; in the old days, "pets" had practical jobs to do such as hunting, herding livestock, and catching mice and rats... Nowadays they are mostly useless except for entertainment and surrogate "love". So many people abuse their pets and treat them like disposable toys, and then, when the pets die, they cry like they lost one of their own children... The good shepherd in the parable didn't go out of his way to find his lost sheep because he wanted to take it home and comb its hair and name it George; that sheep was destined to be slaughtered on the sacrificial altar at the temple; the goal of all good sheep since Abel!
